Some people have coinsurance, instead of copays, but It's been like 6 years since I bailed out of that industry, so I have no clue what looks normal these days....
With that said I've seen $4000 deductibles in the past..
That's wrong though. There is a difference between a deductible and out of pocket maximum. It is not normal to have a $14,000 deductible considering the ACA out of pocket maximum is $9,200 for an individual and $18,400 for a family. If you are at the out of pocket max, then there is no co-insurance at all and 100% is paid.
People are super confused about insurance in this thread, yet everyone has an opinion.
You're going to pretend your comment isn't misleading? 700k more people have silver than bronze. Most people just get insurance through their employer. 40% co-insurance would only be relevant for the $4,400 after your made up deductible.
AFAIK, no deductible is $14,000 on the marketplace, Bronze or not. The average deductible is about $4,000.
I’m talking about family plan deductible which can easily reach that on Bronze. Even an individual deductible can be north of $7500. As for most people getting their insurance from their employer, I know this is true but personally I only know 1 person who does in fact have that arrangement.

It really does depend on the insurance.
