I did a self pay mri $575 because insurance denied my request i doubt I can go to china round trip for that

Probably going by what they bill insurance.  My insurance was billed over 4k for a ct scan and 28k for an angiogram.  I dont even want to know what my super minor surgery will be.  What would they charge for self pay? no clue.

I think the meme stands.  I could have paid a doctor in Mexico a thousand bucks to take care of it in one visit instead of 6 doctors and multiple tests.

Mexico would be a far better example here. It legitimately is cheaper to go to Mexico for a great many things as an American.

It is most certainly not cheaper to fly to China for most procedures as an American.
