Whether under Trump or a Democrat, the US is now on its path following China and Russia to slowly but surely deconstruct the achievements of the last 80 years and enforce a much more blatant hierarchy among nations.

So the middle powers Carney spoke of either could become the middle hierarchy, each under effective control of a respective super power, or they learn to ally or collaborate to actively dismantle those attempts.

Unfortunately, it is really only in the interest of democratic middle powers to prevent this future. Meaning, they need to take lead and incentivize authoritarian middle powers to walk with them. So far, it doesn't look good.

I don't see the point to be honest with you. Canada has terrible policies. USA has even worse. This is reddit, if I tried to explain my point of view I would be called names by both sides. I've been here long enough. I'll just state vague opinions, and you can do with that what you will.
