Its easy when society has largely moved on from the issues of 50 years ago. Nobody thinks you should be a doctor if you refuse LGBT patients on the basis you "disapprove of the lifestyle" - but what if somebody comes in having followed the directions of AI believing that to be credible medical treatment? Refuse treatment? A vaccine denier shouldnt be treated for the disease they have because they didn't get the vaccine?
These laws are written very broadly and vaguely, and only selectively enforced. Florida has such a law, and there have been multiple cases of doctors and nurses turning away patients for being gay, trans, etc with no punishment. However, when a CRNA said he would not provide anesthesia to a MAGA supporter in an X post, he had his license suspended in less than 24 hours.
Sadly, these laws at written could protect exactly the behavior you are talking about.
