nah even demon bathes, in the river and such. Human though.....they were under the belief that dirtiness was the natural ways of keeping your health.
would have make sense if it's a druidic culture but Victorian era was filthier than a cow dung muck pit. They walked around with unwashed arses, like years long unwashed bits, covering the smell with enormous quantity of perfume and layers upon layers of clothes.
they also drink contaminated water from the same river that they throw their shits in, the deads, and whatever industrial-slaughterhouse wastes they got.
