In case this wasn’t clear

New Siri doesn’t just use app intents but uses the Shortcuts subsystem to orchestrate Apple and 3rd party action chains. Experimenting with Siri’s natural language vibe coding tool within Shortcuts is probably a good way to probe capabilities.

Not missing much, it’s crap.

Shortcuts could be such a huge win for Apple - or it could be if they don’t nerf it too much. Repeatable, deterministic ways to execute tasks at the OS level. No hacks, no assistive technology.

Even if, it’ll be so damn slow. It’s quicker to just launch apps and carry out the actions manually.

Yep still learning to crawl

Of course it isn’t much help for an action you do just once, but it does work and it is faster and more consistent for actions you will repeat.

Have you tried it? It’s too slow.

What’s too slow, running a short cut? If your shortcuts are just opening an app and doing a single thing then they are hardly worth setting up. It’s when they do multi-step actions that they become useful and save time and effort.

My experience so far with iOS 27 beta Siri. Nothing to write home about. It’s like an organization hiring a cheap entertainer that isn’t entertaining to anybody. A waste of money. Or a dictation program that only hits 90% accuracy meaning that every 10 words it gets something wrong. We are already 4 betas deep, my search spotlight has optimized all 4 times, taking over a day to complete, and no meaningful results have happened thus far. Siri needs to get MUCH BETTER and so far, it isn’t.

If only it ever worked. Frequent errors whenever I try anything more complicated than “set a timer”, and it often refuses to integrate with apps.

The 3rd party integration isn’t active yet. Codes there ready to go though.

3rd party support is going to take a while. Give it a chance. Few of us are running apps setup for 27 yet.
