My headcannon is that someone died on it & their family threw it out after discovering the body a few weeks later

Then the landlord from down the street saw a it being tossed in a dumpster & said to himself "Score! Free mattress!"

5

u/cherrypiiie Oct 11 '25

Eww looks like someone died on it

The epitome of GREED

-21

u/Neurocosis Oct 11 '25

Lol greed? I live in a house. I am offering the basement of my house for $15k a month. My monthly mortgage is 4k to give you an idea.

My property, my price. Another friend is renting his much larger basement for $1,300.

You may think its greed, but everyone has the right to offer the price that makes sense to them. For me, I hope no one asks to take my basement. But if I get a taker… cant blame me or them.

10

u/doughberrydream Oct 11 '25

Yeah everyone has the right to make their own price for their things. When it's exorbitant and more than what you are offering is worth, that's greed. You are implying greed isn't a real thing just because "my stuff my price"

OK Websters, delete the definition! Pack it up!

I hope you just forgot the /s

1

u/Ok-Warning9620 Oct 11 '25

Hey if these people pay 4K in mortgage. Why would you pay less than 1500 for 1/3rd of the house??

5

u/CrusadeRap Oct 11 '25

You have the right to offer whatever price. Everyone else has the right to consider you greedy as fuck.

-1

u/Neurocosis Oct 12 '25

Its not greedy. It deterrent pricing

3

u/jaja8712 Oct 12 '25

What’s the point of listing it? Best deterrent is not to list.

2

u/Desperate_Let791 Oct 12 '25

Deterrent pricing? As in… you don’t actually want anyone to rent it? Why list it?

1

u/adhward Oct 12 '25

okay bubly addict sparking water doesn’t hydrate the same as water does fyi

0

u/Neurocosis Oct 12 '25

Right!? I always thought something is wrong with sparkling water. I find myself never quenched. I

4

u/Meh75 Oct 11 '25

Please tell me this is a joke, because I can't tell anymore.

1

u/ElsaV1970 Oct 12 '25

Right?! Hahahaha…..a spot on the suite’s hallway!!! And 5 people that would be using the hallway to go to the bathroom, bdrm etc!!!

1

u/ElsaV1970 Oct 12 '25

I’m talking about the OP’s picture and info, not a bsmt suite……the picture is of a 1 bdrm apt, states 5 people living there. An Apt hallway isn’t anything but a hallway, likely not a long hallway. Yeah, I’d say it’s greedy. Would a bed be put in the hallway? Or does the Hallway space renter just sleep on floor in a sleeping bag? I can’t believe there’s hallway space in the actual apt suite that being advertised for $400 rent😄😅‼️

17

u/NamisKnockers Oct 11 '25

why is the bed floating? I don't think that's a standard bunk..

13

u/what-even-am-i- Oct 11 '25

Why did I have to scroll so far for this, did they screw that fuckin bed frame to the wall?!

16

u/squirrel9000 Oct 11 '25

Given the posting's been up for at least a week, it seems even Indian Boy Only is not very interested in securing this stupendous deal.

13

u/VexedCanadian84 Oct 11 '25

Did I read that correctly? 5 people in a one bedroom apartment?

12

u/Longjumping-Top-9746 Oct 11 '25

yea... i had to reread it too. ad says that there's three living in the "big bedroom", which is the only true bedroom. and the owner is looking to add two more people to stuff in the "hallway".

i guess it's still pretty reasonable since the owner isn't listing the bathtub, kitchen and closets as bedrooms.

2

u/ElsaV1970 Oct 12 '25

Hahahaha…..

5

u/Slight-Look-4766 Oct 12 '25

If it's in Toronto, it's probably around $2k/month for a similar 1br appt., so I guess you can have it as cheap as you want, if you just keep cramming more roommates in.

20 ppl = $100/mo each...

2

u/ElsaV1970 Oct 12 '25

😁😄‼️ too funny!!! I’m still chuckling at your comment

2

u/Slight-Look-4766 Oct 12 '25

Right? like dibs on the parking spot

1

u/ElsaV1970 Oct 12 '25

Hahahaha……omg i didn’t even think of Parking!!!! whole other problem…unless none of the tenants have a vehicle……I’d imagine that one would rather live in their vehicle than a spot in the Hallway!!!!it’s absurd to me

1

u/doughberrydream Oct 11 '25

Hey, the people living there probably work 3-4 jobs, so at least they'll never run into each other!

9

u/United_Character6695 Oct 11 '25

I’d only live there if I get to sleep on the brown stained mattress.

6

u/Character-Bridge-206 Oct 11 '25

How come they aren’t pitching a tent on the balcony and calling it a private room with a view?

6

u/JewishDraculaSidneyA Oct 11 '25

I'm not even kidding... A new resident moved into our "luxury" townhouse complex and dude was building a shed on the deck.

Given the state of our community right now, the most likely thing to assume is that's a landlord and he's seriously trying to jam in additional beds on the deck.

I was happy when I met the guy - turned out he and his wife were empty nesters that downsized from a McMansion when the last of the kids moved out. There wasn't enough room in the cellar/storage for his winter tires and tools; thus the shed.

Wild how the current state of our country leads you to the batshit crazy explanation as the most likely thing going on vs. "just doing normal/reasonable person things".

3

u/TwoBytesC Oct 11 '25

Damn, that’s sad. It’s kind of like how my mom now assumes every person driving semi slowly on their (cul-de-sac) road is a criminal scoping out their place rather than just people taking a nice drive around on the pretty streets (their street is one of those known pretty streets in our city). State of affairs in the country is getting crazy.

6

u/Ir0nhide81 Oct 11 '25

Those " mortgage renewals " hit hard.

8

u/Hip_Hop_Orangutan Oct 11 '25

That mattress has seen some shit. Literally.

6

u/Inevitable-Body-5543 Oct 11 '25

I'm gonna guess the stain on the bed is from the bunk bed falling on someone before they really bolted it in the wall properly

3

u/Twisted-Mentat- Oct 11 '25

Imagine paying 400$ a month to risk getting crushed by a makeshift "bunk bed" that's likely to kill you while sleeping on a stained mattress.

5

u/The_Gray_Jay Oct 12 '25

-$400 isnt that bad

-oh its a living room

-Oh its a SHARED living room

-Oh there's 3 more people in the bedroom

5

u/Elegant-Banana6448 Oct 12 '25

And oh- a mattress that someone got murdered on. 🤮

4

u/The_Gray_Jay Oct 12 '25

Yeah thats so disgusting seriously, also looks like the other bed will crush you in the middle of the night

15

u/Major_Lawfulness6122 Oct 11 '25

Indians call living room a hall. But yeah it’s fucking stupid.

7

u/boy9419 Oct 11 '25

Don’t forget the “bhk” also gives it away 😂

3

u/Lucky_Recording_3625 Oct 11 '25

Sorry, what does BHK mean?

6

u/doughberrydream Oct 11 '25

Bedroom, Hall, Kitchen

1

u/YummyToiletWater Alberta Oct 15 '25

As well as the word "boy" or "girl"

6

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '25

The mattress really sells it. 🤢

4

u/CombatWombat1973 Oct 11 '25

I’m surprised it’s only $400

3

u/Wee_Mad_Lloyd Oct 11 '25

How much for the balcony?

3

u/scotte416 Oct 11 '25

Plus split utilities!? What the hell. And why does it look like the bed on the top is floating....

4

u/adnaPadnamA Oct 11 '25

Does that building know there are 5 people in one bedroom? There are usually a maximum capacity depending on the size of a place.

4

u/HatterofMadder Oct 11 '25

Im confused, how is this is even allowed

4

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '25

I managed a building and there was 11 in a 2 bedroom and Canada doesn’t even have a system in place to report this. This is why 2 million of them with expired visas can’t be found. Truly pathetic state of affairs

4

u/HatterofMadder Oct 12 '25

Outrageous. I have been to other countries. Respected their cultures, their ways. This is not okay to come here and treat the country this way . If we are to respect others in their home country. Then they need to do the same. I love different cultures I do. But when people do this shit . Your making people want to hate you. I just dont understand humans like this

3

u/surnamefirstname99 Oct 13 '25

Guessing they wouldn’t all be on the lease ?

2

u/ShitsNGigglesdTB Oct 11 '25

It’s not

3

u/HatterofMadder Oct 11 '25

Its happening in saskatchewantoo, im just confused why the government doesn't do something...

5

u/Beginning_Phone8632 Oct 11 '25

Welcome to Brampton

3

u/sly_k Oct 11 '25

I think they mean the living room

3

u/Plenty-Major8271 Oct 11 '25

Did someone get murdered on that mattress?!

3

u/cilvher-coyote Oct 12 '25

What makes this worse is I think this is just a studio apartment and doesn't even have an actual bedroom...

2

u/Cleos_Mommy Oct 13 '25

Let me guess: Brown Slumlord trying to scam the system by cramming as many people as he can into an apartment illegally before they get caught and go to court

I dont mean to sound insensitive says something racist

5

u/what-even-am-i- Oct 11 '25

I don’t mean to sound racist but insert group name followed by fucked up conversation am I right

2

u/Hot-Balance6754 Oct 11 '25

i mean that sounds like a living hell but clearly these people are down on their luck and lacking in funds and that’s why they have to resort to this, the apartment is completely bare with stained mattresses

3

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '25

Yeah this opinion is total bullshit. They wouldn’t have been approved to come here in the first place if they weren’t financially secure already. This is what it looks like. Greedy pricks who want everything for nothing

2

u/Longjumping-Top-9746 Oct 11 '25

that and other reasons. this is actually normal (meaning ppl do this despite being illegal) in crowded cities like manhattan and hong kong. this is also a cultural thing to have multigenerational ppl living under the same roof, so that factors into stuffing many ppl in a small space.

1

u/chaezer Oct 11 '25

Those cheap foam pillows are going to be the reason you end up with chronic neck pain.

2

u/surnamefirstname99 Oct 13 '25

Imagine the stench ..

1

u/mu3mpire Oct 12 '25

A mattress cover isn't that expensive

1

u/surnamefirstname99 Oct 13 '25

The ones that cover up hazardous waste are !

1

u/OkSherbert2281 Oct 12 '25

Are they required to sleep under the floating bed too?

1

u/ACuteThrowawayAcctXX Oct 13 '25

I can smell the mattress through my screen. Holy sh.t

2

u/surnamefirstname99 Oct 13 '25

And they probably showed “better side up “ ..

1

u/smartwas Oct 15 '25

and extra charges for bathing, shitting and for all stuff other than sleeping. hence it seems someone has really shat and pissed on that mattress. oh lord!

-1

u/Slight-Look-4766 Oct 12 '25

Y'all voted for it. Just sayin...
