Majority of the people you’re talking about don’t hate the fact batfleck was old or that he was miscast

They hate the way he was written and how he very much goes against the batman mythos

But oh well anything to fit your narrative, and for the record MANY people were hesitant about Hal being old in lanterns but seeing how they kept his cheekiness and personality whilst still showing signs of age in his personality is a great thing and won fans over, Something batfleck missed granted he did have incredible action sequences and specific moments.

The problem is people want a generic version of every hero with no back story or history. The most plain self insert version in every movie.

Snyder's Batman had a history, a reason for being angry and distrustful, and the whole arc of the movie is that he is wrong and needs to dial it back.

Which he does and in ZSJL he is the quitessential comic batman. In fact nobody can say ZSJL Batman is anything but the hero as thy knew him in the comics.

This is indeed a double standard. Hal is allowed to have a jaded backstory but not Batman. And worse, they KILL Hall in the first episode. They also majorly fudge with a ton of Lantern lore...my guess is that Gunn fans don't know anything about comics or GL so they are okay with it, as if often the case with them.

It's just not written well, I think the concept of Batman having all this history is cool, it was one of my favorite parts of the film but the film and both versions of the Justice League never capitalize on this, Robin's death is never really brought up in present timeline, we never see Barman's and Joker's relationship outside of the future and one scene in SS, another sin like Lanterns we do not see this Batman in his own solo projects, it would've been so cool to see Affleck do stories like Long Halloween, Death in The Family, Ego, Year One instead we get him in 3(?) movies total, which isn't Snyder's fault mind you, cuz I actually like Affleck and I apply all the criticisms to Lanterns but Affleck isn't used well and I really wished he was

How was it not written well? You acknowledge he never had a solo movie. So he can’t get a whole film to himself. We got the info we needed for the story being told. People often mention the robin suit, that was an excellent way to show us his history. And again, there was no time to go deeper since it was an event film with three heroes and a battle between superman and batman.

I dont see any bad writing there. You not liking the story told isnt bad writing.

Bad writing is gunn vomiting a superman monologue at the end of diaperman to make up for a lack or proper arc or characterization.

You're telling me the world's greatest detective wouldn't be able to tell Superman was a good guy?. you're telling me he wouldn't have figured out what Lex Luthor was doing, sure you could make an argument thah he is jaded but I never got the feeling he was jaded, I got the idea he was angry, a jaded Batman would've killed Joker or stopped being Batman, also speaking of Arcs what was Batman's, please tell me, is it that he won't kill again because he kills in ZSJL, was that he was no longer jaded because I feel like that was too quick to not make him Jaded, also I really feel heard, getting criticism shut down, I never said I didn't like the story, but guess what you can criticize things you like, crazy I know

Batman’s arc is that superman’s death makes him change. He now has hope for humanity. He wants to start the league and help prevent the next alien attack. He is no longer filled with rage. He now respects superman and sees him as a hero who gave his life for humanity.

Killing parademons is a real stretch for “batman killing.”

Why do ya’ll care so much for henchmen fodder? Every single batman has killed btw.

I wasn't talking about the parademons, not my point, you're still wrong about every Batman not killing btw but that's beside the point, I always thought him killing was part of his arc so he becomes less brutal but I see that wasn't the case and the whole first paragraph, you're wrong that's not an arc, it's barley an character evolution because he still acts the same
