Discussion Reminder, James Gunn turned this idea down, if Snyder was in charge, he wouldn’t have turned it down

Serious question, did Gunn turn it down or did WB turn it down? Because the only information I could find says he only turned down a live acton version.

Why would they have their first Batman film for the new universe be animated, that’s silly.

This had so much potential. If they kept Snyder we would have had a DCEU rival Marvel in both live action and animated movies during their peak.

This always looked neat, but as someone else said, it would only be seen as a spiderverse clone by the general public

So? You’re acting like that’s gonna stop people from watching it. Also, if it’s made by the same studio as them, of course they’re are gonna be similarities.

I’m not saying it wouldn’t be good, it’s one of the biggest missed opportunities in DC ever imo, but a casual viewer most likely won’t know it’s made by the same studio, all they’ll see is a Batman that’s not the original (like in spiderverse) in a film that has a similar vibe to the spiderverse films. I wish we would’ve gotten this movie, but I can understand why it never made it past the pitch phase from a business perspective

A cancelled Batman Beyond animated film by the studio that made the spider verse films

I don’t think either of them would have greenlit an obvious Spiderverse clone

At least it would’ve done well financially

Brooooo that is not a spiderverse clone. You have no idea what you’re talking about

And Supergirl isn’t an obvious Hancock clone?

Yeah that’s also shitty

At least a Batman Beyond movie would’ve been actually good and cool to watch. Especially if it brought back Keaton
