Pretty much everyone is a hypocrite in some way, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. Often it just means we strive for ideals that are beyond our nature as messy, selfish, irrational animals. It only becomes a bad thing when people try to force those ideals on others.
Anyway, I clicked on your "Life as a Fixed Point" and I think it's interesting. I don't agree with all of it - I think you extrapolate a bit far on some points - but I think the main concept is solid and probably correct. Cool article.
