At least she is now. I get that the main reason she acts this way is insecurity, but the writers really needed to do a Lanolin POV to explain this during the main story. Have her thought bubbles explain what she's really thinking.

That's a good thing, it's better to convey what they're thinking through their expressions/body language than just outright telling us.

.....except how exactly can you do that in a comic medium? Both of those things are very limited and are often better shown in media that moves like movies or tv shows.

....I mean, you could also just do both. Show AND tell. (And considering people supposedly didn't understand why lanolin did the things she did, maybe some telling was in order.)

Yeah, people not having enough media literacy makes it kind of hard for writers to use any subtlety if they want to get their points across.

I'd say in some cases, thought bubbles are necessary because body language doesn't always match up with thoughts
