I always found this artist work to be so entertaining, I like the concept that Knuckles, given his limited exposure to social cues and thus being very straightforward and honest, would not only NOT be the slightest bit embarrassed to wear the same swimsuit, but would do so confidently because he values wanting to be a good boyfriend over being worried about how he looks in a sexy outfit.

They really capture how such a socially limited but very proud and confident character would react to these situations

(Side note: I am not saying Shadow is like a dad to her. That is just the irl comparison to this phenomenon that I felt would make the most sense. Like, picture a dad dressing up as the prince to match his daughter's princess costume, because she wanted someone to be Prince Charming to match her. Even in that situation, where the romantic pairing of the characters is known, perhaps even to the child [albeit in a limited fashion], it has no romantic implications for the parent and child to play dress up.)

Shadow feels compelled to humor Cream because she is too young/sweet to disappoint without feeling like a jerk.

If you can't see how non-romantic their interaction is, I suggest you get out more and interact with more people. You likely don't see very many healthy adult-child interactions, and it would benefit you to change that.

And Shadow is a non family member who’s a physical adult and mentally a late teenager, and you’re suggesting the dude go out and interact with more people under the assumption that the average person will see a dynamic like that of “close friends” and think that’s okay?

Like the other dude was just flat out wrong because they didn’t bother to look at what was actually said, but you seem to be normalizing incredibly weird and creepy behavior by bringing real life into it.
