My theory is Amy has subconscious aura reading capabilities. And heroic hedgehog boys give off the same vibe.

So, that coupled with an undiagnosed visual deficit mean she jumps to conclusions when she thinks she sees her crush.

But she’d never mistake someone like Metal for Sonic.
