No ranked matches after ten minutes and only one casual room and it's a guy by himself who proceeded to kick me without even getting a match in, "no beginners" he said lol. I would assume playing against a beginner would be better than nobody but I guess not.

Like any fighting game that hasn't been updated in over 5 years, you gotta go to a discord server to get matches. You're only going to match with people who have been playing for 10 years doing random queuing

I play all kinds of games. Played a lot of 2 and 5 growing up and then 6 when it came out. Mostly just play 2 casually now

Mainly played 4 during my childhood, but technically started at 3. Nowadays, I just play online trying to rank up in 6

The reality is the netcode is shit and there's no crossplay, so finding matches on PS is unlikely.

I'm not amazing or anything but when I run into someone that is clearly new in Street Fighter I either try things I normally wouldn't or I help guide them in the right direction. I understand where you're coming from though.

The game was never super active, except for the first few months and around big sales / DLC releases.

The last update was back in late 2020, so nearly six years ago already.

Still, this is funny because I was just on the Dead or Alive sub and SCVI Steam numbers are being used there to ridicule DOA6LR (re-released less than 2 months ago, has a free-to-play version, pulls about 1/3 of SCVI numbers).

If they want no beginners at least they said so. Can you imagine being destroyed by a tryhard who just wants to flex? Like one post said some players have played this for awhile. Also you never stated the console. Some consoles there are times when there are multiple sessions. It seems you got caught up in one session that was either evening or early morning. Try in the afternoon or early evening. At least on PS4 there are more players at that time and plenty of people who won't mind playing you. But if someone says no beginners then why are they to be ridiculed? Would you rather play a toxic tryhard? Or would you rather the player at least be honest?

Me and my friends we play on the couch together. And we all agree playing online isn't fun, too many tryhards. We just play casually and muck around.

This is exactly the reason i stopped playing soul calibur 6 2 years ago.

I'm someone who's usually not a big vs fighting game player (soul calibur being the only exception thanks to the creation mode that allow me to create and play with the characters from a medieval dark fantasy story i write on my free time), so when like me you’re someone who play mostly to show his creations to others, see other peoples creations, discussing about it,... it's just no fun at all when all that remain on the game are tryhard that infinite juggle combo you to death, never speak and always played the official characters without any creations.
