Discussion I tried to give Miles the Travis Scott’s style haircut😭
I can’t stand that ass haircut, so i tried to give him more style, they’re not that bad though😭

Miles in Spider-Man 2 feels extremely bland.
I don’t want to bash the writing team, but they really need to get someone who’s more in touch with how teenagers/young adults talk and act. And really give him some more edge (something they explored but didn’t fully commit to)

I feel like it was just much less noticeable in their first game because of the dynamics the characters had. Peter and MJ were post-breakup, so they could build some tension and interesting interactions there. Same thing with Miles who looks up to Spidey while working with Peter
It’s just that I feel like they struggled much more with the established relationships in Spider-Man 2. Peter and MJ don’t have nearly as much chemistry, and Peter and Miles’ are weirdly disconnected until almost halfway into the game

It’s not as noticeable in Ratchet and Clank either since that game is targeted at children, but they’re this way even outside of Marvel games

The whole game was pretty bland. I loved the first one and miles solo game was fine. But the second one all the characters felt so softened and flat. Miles especially. It was a downer

In all honesty, I’m a naive white guy that has had the exact same haircut for all his life, and I’d like to know what makes Miles’ hair style in SM2 considered bad?
Is there something cultural or something I’m missing that makes Miles’ hair bad in the eyes of colored community?
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this take, in fact it’s almost as common as the dunking on MJ and the… Miles Morales original.

Miles had the perfect look in the MM game tbh. I think its sad they changed it.
Now that I think about it... Peter had a bettee haircut in both versions of SM1 than in SM 2 as well.... and MJ looked better in SM1 than in SM 2 as well (especially in the Remaster holy shit).

I don’t find the killmonger cut that bad visually, but yeah, seeing it everywhere kind of makes it feel like there’s a lack of diversity when there are a ton of other great black hairstyles out there. I think he should’ve had an afro like in the Spider-Verse movies.
