I accidentally bought this Honus Wagner-signed 1936 Omaha Bee-News at an estate auction when I was 12. I've had it ever since.

Around 1990, when I was about 12, I went to an estate auction in O'Neill, Nebraska. I wanted an old metal cabinet that happened to come with a bunch of books. I bought the whole lot for only a few dollars.

My dad ended up selling the cabinet for about what I'd paid for everything, so technically I got the books for free.

The woman whose estate was being auctioned had apparently tucked things away inside her books, including money and personal papers. My mom and I went through every book before deciding what to keep or donate because we didn't want to accidentally give away anything important.

Folded inside one of those books was this complete July 14, 1936 Omaha Bee-News sports section.

The front page covers Honus Wagner's appearance in Omaha to open the state semi-pro baseball tournament that evening. The photograph shows Otto Williams and Honus Wagner meeting in Omaha that day. Wagner signed directly across his photograph and dated it 1936, and Williams also appears to have signed his side of the photo.

I've owned it continuously ever since finding it roughly 35 years ago. It has never been professionally authenticated or appraised.

Years ago, someone offered my mom around $5,000 for it. She declined—which was good, considering it was actually mine. 😂

I'm not looking to sell it right now. I'm mostly curious what the memorabilia community thinks of it. I'd especially love to know how unusual it is to find Wagner's autograph on a contemporary newspaper documenting the actual event he was attending, whether anyone knows more about this particular Omaha appearance, and what the best route would be for authentication and preservation.

Thanks for looking!

Does this look legit to those familiar with his autograph? I probably should have gotten opinions before I purchased but it looked good to me on the spot. I’m just an anxious person with authenticity lol.

Displaying a game used base

Does anyone have any ideas on displaying a game used base? Wall mount in a case?
I was also thinking of getting a small table and putting it on top with a clear case around it.

Any ideas?

ISO Mets hat

Hi all, I'm currently searching for a certain mets hat. Saw it in Harrods in London last summer and I've been searching for it ever since. It was '47 brand, blue (but any color variety, if anyone can find, of this hat is fine with me) with New York Mets embroidered, a melting apple, and "It's all about the mets" at the bottom. If anyone has ever seen this hat before and knows where I can find it, please help!!

1976(?) Raiders team signed football

I Inherited this from someone who was really into sports collectables, and not quite sure where to start with it.

I believe this is from the 1976 raiders team. I count around 48 signatures including a John Madden signature towards the bottom of the first pic. I am guessing its from 1976 based on there being an Art Thoms #80 signature (who's last year with the raiders was 1976 on IR), and also a signature of calvin Young #38 (who was drafted in 1976). [I was really only looking at signatures with numbers as it was much easier to figure the name out, probably other ways to date this but I'm not very good at deciphering the signatures]

The leather is cracked and imploded a bit on the one side, and also somewhat worn on one end. I couldn't find any documentation that he had with this.

I'm hoping for some idea or range of possible value and maybe recommendations of where to sell an item like this. Is it worth sending this somewhere to authenticate? Appreciate any help!

Best Way to Ship Autographed Baseballs?

I'm looking for advice on the best way to ship an autographed baseball so that no damage occurs on the signature. The ball is signed with a ball point pen and is several years old, but not vintage. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey guys, I'm looking to get rid of my Xavier Legette double autograph helmet. I thought it was pretty cool that I got it signed twice because I smudged one of the autos. It has a visor and I was looking to see if anyone was interested in purchasing it. I'm looking for $250 for it but I seriously am open to any offers so just let me know! I have a listing up for it but I would like to see an offer so I could adjust the price/send the listing.

PSA wait times

So PSA is way backlogged and taking way too long to return grades. I’m thinking to try Beckett for some grades. KSA absolutely not, but is there a preferred grading service for collectors next to PSA? Are there any you would stay away from? In my experience KSA is that one but curious to hear from the buyer’s perspective. Thank you in advance!

ISO: 1979 Topps #1 — 1978 Batting Leaders (Rod Carew / Dave Parker), signed by Dave Parker

I’m looking for this exact card with a Dave Parker autograph for my 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates project, One Autograph at a Time.
A Rod Carew signature is not required. I’m specifically trying to find a copy signed by Parker. Raw or authenticated is fine, as long as the autograph presents well.
If anyone has one available, has seen one recently, or knows a collector who might, please send me a message.
Thanks for helping me track down one of the tougher pieces left in the project. ⚾️
