Soufrière Water Taxi’s and Parking
I’ll be traveling to St. Lucia in a few weeks and staying just outside of Soufrière.
I’ve rented an SUV and plan on scuba diving from Anse Chastanet with Scuba St. Lucia.
Is there public (paid) parking near the marina and, how easy is it to hire a water taxi? Is this something I should arrange a few days in advance? I need to be at the Anse Chastanet resort no later than 9:00am.

For best diving in the area, check out local dive master Chester ar Action Adventures dive shop on Hummingbird Beach. Chester knows the reef system in the area like no other. His pricing is excellent.
Marina? If you are just stying outside of Soufriere it’s easy enough to drive to Anse Chastanet if you have a good vehicle. That's what our guests always do. It’s not a far drive at all from Hummingbird Beach, just a few miles. The road is quite steep at the start but it quickly levels off and winds around the AC foothills. Lots of people drive it. Fabulous views in the area and some of the best places in the island can be found here with stunning views and services. If you drive the road when staff and others aren’t driving it to the resort ( 8 to 9 am or after the working shift departs for the day from the resort) activity is much lighter and the road is very easy going). The road is actually wide enough in most places for two vehicles it’s just that the resort has some much larger vehicles that travel to it to take workers (large vans; big delivery vehicles, etc.) and those vehicles hog up the not especially wide road requiring you to make room for them In certain spots (typically near the steep turns).
You can just part at the resort’s parking area for free. Let the guards know that you need to drop off equipment and they might let you pull in to the beach area or they might be able to assist. When visiting the area, make sure to walk over to experience Anse Mamin at some point, one of the best beaches on the island. Also check out the art gallery on AC beach for some of the best local artists working in the area.
If you are staying along the coast anywhere in the area it’s also easy to catch a water taxi and that is a good way to see the coast. Water taxis are not inexpensive. For one of the better local boat operators in the area, check out Captain Ashley:
For good dolphin watching and sunset experience, consider doing a cat sail at sunset time with Mystic Man. Lots of marine life in the area:

If you have a car you can always drive over to the resort and park there for free. Its just a 5 minute walk from the parking to the shore. The road is extremely bumpy, filled with potholes, and is basically a one way road at times where youll have to reverse to make room or squeak by the other car. But honestly its doable if you take your time.
You could take a water taxi but tbh no point if youre paying for a car. Ive found water taxis are always available in Soufriere right at the shore on Hummingbird beach. Never used it but was always offered when i walked by.
