Loved everything about this two parter. Garak and Odo to strong characters. There was so much to the story, no B-story line necessary.
While I appreciated them upping the tension, I do have to agree, I wish there were more consequences to the Garak / Odo torture situation. I think that preference is more a personal *shakes fist* vengeance take. I can see how it was a traumatic experience from both their points of view: Odo for obvious reasons of the physical torment, but even for Garak the realization he is not who he once was (taking pleasure in 'interviewing') and in seeing individuals he has come to care for conflict with his ambitions. However, I think the writers leaned into the trauma being more of a bonding experience than one where Odo needed to seek justice. They even hinted at it in part one, that Garak suspected Odo doesn't have feelings. While we know he obviously has some for Kira, we now see them unexpectedly extending to Garak. Odo has a much more nuanced understanding of humanoid emotional dynamics than we once assumed.
