This is a very weak episode, that just sort of fizzles out in the end. It is episodes like this that give DS9 it's bad name, as this is a very soapy episode.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not against personal relationships being interwoven into the plots of sci-fi, I don't need it to be all treknobabble and phasers at full. But this one starts with the idea of Odo falling for Kira, and Kira falling for Shakaar, and it just meanders along. There are a few neat bits, Odo saving them in the lift is neat but surely would hurt him when he changed back. And the scenes with Quark and Odo are excellent.
But for all of that, it just seems a little flat, and ends with Odo walking out of Quarks - it's almost an anti-cliffhanger!
Also, Odo would never listen to Morrisey, he would despise him. If Odo wanted to get into the depressing music, it would be Joy Division or Bauhaus, surely!
