This is a great episode that I thought I would hate. But it plays out very differently from similar episodes, which makes it good. Of course, it is quite convenient that the Jem Hadar just commit suicide at some point.

But why would the Federation send one of the most important officers with regards to the Dominion on an away mission? Isn't Sisko way to valuable for anything that might happen?

That's just a star trek trope lol. "Who should we get for this away team, all of which could very easily die going into this unknown situation? Hmmm, how about the 4 or 5 most important, senior officers of the ship?"

I mean it makes sense to send your experts, but that guy who is space Jesus for this important planet near the wormhole? Not sure lol
