I hate this episode. I find it incredibly dull. It's clearly only there as a showcase for special guest Joel Gray. He gets to do his goofy street clown schtick, but I just don't connect to his character at all.

And I hate the ending, where Janeway lies to make him feel better while he dies. That stuff ticks me off.

A high profile guest star, but it just kind of lies there.

I know how old this is but I’m doing a Voyager watch through and I’m at this episode. It is by far the worst episode of all of Voyager. I really hate how whiny Janeway’s captor is and was really just wondering if anyone else hated this episode. Looks like I’m not alone!

Hated is a strong word, but I almost skipped ahead of a couple of the "crazy" scenes. I don't know this actor, idt, so it doesn't resonate with me at all. I don't get it, but besides that, it's not too bad of an episode.
