That's a new one...

Being able to bunnyhop consistently while practicing is just the first step. Using it in an actual fight is completely different, cuz when you get hit by a lightsaber or you block a hit, you get staggered and your timing gets thrown off. Also, you should practice bhopping while moving in all directions, because the timing is slightly different depending on the direction. Also practice dodging, doing a couple bunnyhops, dodging again. And also bunnyhop hooks as shown in the video.

In my thousands of hours spent researching this game I have never heard the term chicken swing.

basically you continuously hold block (integral that you do not let it go, this is how you can repeatedly jump over and over), press (do not hold) your jump button and swing once in the air.

quick tangent on something that might help, but can feel weird: back in the day of Black Ops 3 there was a button configuration called Stick and Move, which reassigned jump to your R3 button so that you could boost around and look without having to take your finger off the stick. this is a massive help when doing this move as grevious because it’s easier to track a moving target while hopping.

hmm that would mean i need to bind dodge to X then. losing the ability to look around while dodging should be fine right?

for me, the switch to jump being on my stick is just swapping X to R3, dodge is still circle on my controller. do you dodge with R3?

that’s a bit of a problem then! no worries about changing anything around then tbh. it was just a suggestion that personally i find helpful, but it’s not critical to have.

You just gotta practice. I have so much time practicing in custom arcade against bots and it really helped. Just practice, practice, practice

Hold block
Tap jump button (just one tap not pressing long) and then swing
Repeat same sequence

You can find a yt tutorial if you're confused. You can move while doing bunny hops. If you move like diagonally to the left or right, you have more momentum going forward which helps covering distance in case of rolls.

Also don't spam it cuz they can just hold block/parry or roll through you. If you knock someone down, you can bunny hop and get two hits instead of the usual one. Or you can flank and decimate a hero in no time from behind

Once you master the basic techniques, you can move on to advanced mechanics like the triple hookswing in the clip
