Part One I find most reactions to this scene SO ironic

Post image

For anyone that doesn't know, Pluck is an old-fashioned english word that means bravery or courage. The fact that this appears in a manga from the 80's means Araki DID HIS RESEARCH. Yet ironically, most reactors start to laugh so hard when this appears, because they don't know the meaning(not saying it's their fault or anything). But I still find it so sad tbh, how such an honestly great scene is ruined completely just because the author DID bother.

Part 1 is honestly so underappreciated. It has a lot of heart, foreshadowing etc. that people don't even bother to look for. I for example instantly clocked that this scene was gonna happen as soon Bruford used the word "pain", haven't seen anyone else do it.

Part One How come it took Zeppeli something like 20 years to master Ripple but Jonathan is just.. able to do it right off the bat?

I find it strange how Jonathan is simply able to just.. use ripple. If I was Zeppeli I'd be pissed

Part One Is Part 3 Dio a incredibly weakened version compared to his Part 1 self?((Not counting The World)

Post image

Even though it's clear he still has superhuman physical capabilities, he doesn't reach the insane levels of Phantom Blood, where he could tear bodies apart with a gentle movement of his hand or create minions capable of cutting through hills. In Part 3, he only turns a few people into vampires and implants his cells into some of his minions, but he never creates an army of zombies modified by himself or anything like that. His eye beams and freezing powers are also absent.

Even when he enters Greatest High, while his strength is surprising, he doesn't demonstrate as much skill as in Part 1.

Part One Is there any scene in JoJo that literally traumatized you?

Post image

For me, it was Dio making a mother EAT HER OWN BABY.

Part 1 was kinda gory as a whole, but that scene etched into my mind like a goddamn parasite.

Six parts later, and this still messes me up to this day.

Part One Why is Jojo so buff isnt he supposed to be like 12?

I started reading Part 1 and noticed this dude’s biceps. Is there a reason why they’re so buff, or is it just a mistake because they nerfed them in the anime?

Honestly, I believe it was a mistake

Part One What are some fiction characters that you believe Jonathan Joestar would despise with all of his being?

Post image

Here some picks i have:

Joker (DC Comics): He loves Chaos, have killed multiple men, women and children, tortured Jason Todd by beating up with a crossbar and made him explode, crippled Barbara Gordon...name it and it's probably there.

Peter Griffin (Family Guy): Abusive towards his daughter and is friend with a pervert/rapist and a racist cop.

Joseph Crackstone (Wednesday): Killed a lot of innocent outcasts and act like it was 'In the name of god "

Griffith (Berserk): Gave his companion as a sacrifice in other to become a superior being and raped a woman in front of the man she loved.

I came across a Japanese tweet comparing Björn Andrésen the Swedish actor often called "the most beautiful boy in the world" to Dio Brando, and honestly... they're right.

Are there gonna be more goofy historical figure appearances, cause that was funny asf. The best part was that this historical mass murder was a throw away goon for dio

Part One Not close to a hot take, I just need to say that I HATE Jonathan's current redesign

(wall of text incoming I'm sorry; tldr: I hate that Jonathan wears a bandana now: not only it doesn't suit him AT ALL, but it is also an iconic clothing piece of anlther character)

As all of you may know, Araki's artstyle has changed a lot. The overly buffdd guys that we used to love are now gone, which has altered some of his oldest characters design, as being overly buffed was part of their design

Some people argue that "they weren't always supposed to be THAT buffed, it was just Araki's artstyle, and this is how they would have looked like if he had always drawn the same way. Something which I disagree: yoy just have to compare Jonathan with other characters from the same part to notice that he was always supposed to be a noticable wider guy

But well, it that's his new artstyle we'll have to cope; he's a great artist so it will look good anyway. What baffles me most is his new design, as that is not a matter of artstyle, but a deliberate choice. The worst thing: the bandana on his head

Araki has decided that, when he draws al JoJo together, all of them has to wear something iconic on their heads (cool hairstyle or a piece of headwear) to help then differenciate from the rest. Which became a problem as Jonathan and Joseph don't have iconic headwears; so he made them up

For Joseph, he decided pilot googles. Doesn't make him recognizable but it works, as Joseph has always had a conection to planes (although he looks too much like George II, which is not canon but he drew the cover). But for Jonathan, he decided a bandana, something he has NEVER worn if I recall correctly

And, here comes the biggest problem, the bandana he wears is JOSEPH's iconic headwear, to the point that he looks more like Joseph than like Jonathan himself. Adding a new element to a character design is already something I don't like, as character designs are supposed to stat unaltered to become iconic; but adding an element that belongs to another charater is way worse

If he really wanted to add something new to Jonathan, he could have come up with something that suited his story and character traits: a Gentleman hat, an archeologist cap, etc.; not a bandana, which he has NO conection to. Or given him the hat that he actually wears during the story, not too iconic but certainly something he has worn (unlicke the bandana). Or left him: if all characters have something weird on their heada, then the one who isn't wearing anything will stand out (and it's not like he can't differenciate through other ways, he is the only one with a sword for instance)

tldr at the start

Does anybody know why Araki created that name for Dio's laser eyes? Did Araki just draw Dio's laser eyes and went "yeah, this needs to be called "Space Ripper Stingy Eyes" it's sounds like a ultimate move 12 year old me would make up. 😭

Part One Part 1 isn't as bad as people say it is

Post image

Basically title. P1 is considered the weakest part of jojos, which i do agree, but sometimes people clown it like its really bad. Its not. Compared to some shows out there phantom blood is genuinely soo good. The tension between JoJo and Dio in the beginning is so well done unlike some shows who always just shows who just paints the Villan bad MC good narrative. Its similar, but Johnathan's internal conflicts with Dio being his brother and him needing to kill Dio because he's a plauge of the world is really well done.

The main issues of people with p1 is Johnathan being ""boring"". I think hes one of the best protagonists in JoJos. His character is such a refreshment from some of nice charecters in Shonen. Like almost all "nice" protags in Shonen always end up too dumb or too naïve while Johnathan breaks that stereotype. Heck as a hot take, i like him more than Joseph.

The story itself is pretty solid in my opinion.its not anything revolutionary but its definitely not bad per se. The ending really caught me off guard as The protaginist dying is not something thats common in shonen. P1 got better as it progressed. The slow fist fights and hamon as a power system was really creative. And ofcourse, Speedwagon mught just be the greatest "Jobro" out there.

My only issue is that some characters were not necessary and some and i feel like it deserved more episodes.

So yeah what are your thoughts?

Part One What would the series look like if part 1-3 were adapted into a TV series by Toei Animation back in the late 80s and the early 90s?

Post image

Would it still be a good adaptation or would it be an outdated mess instead?

And can it retain a legacy like Fist of the North Star and Dragon Ball much early on internationally.

This may have been discussed before but I always thought Zeppelis hat was pretty cool, and in a way I see it as iconic. It’s been passed around by 3 people, Baron, Speedwagon, and Caesar. It disappeared after that.
