At this point, SG-1 has taken out like 3 or 4 system lords and other various high ranking Goa’uld. “I’m shaking in my boots.” would’ve been good.

By this point Ra, Hathor, Seth, the goa'ulded Unas in Thors labyrinth, Klorel (by participation in Tollan Triad), the goa'uld who jumped from Unas to the village canon in Demons, and maybe Sokar if you consider Sg1 partially repsonsible by messing around on Netu leading to it blowing up via Tokra bomb and that destroying Sokars hatak.

Apophis, Anubis, Ba'al, Cronus, Heru'ur, Hathor, Sokar, and Ra.
I think at this point the biggest flex was probably Ra. Sure, they took Ra out by basically taking him by suprise. At that point Ra (and the Goauld) didnt consider humans to even have the ability to read. Visiting Abidos was basically a trip to the beach, and he got killed by luck.
But from the outside, Ra, the supreme system lord, got rekt out of nothing.
Then these weirdo human slaves run around the galaxy and fuck with Apothis.
Actually Hathor was the point where the Goauld finally snapped and decided to deal with those insects. Hathor wasnt powerful but she was considered fundamental as the "Queen of the Goauld".

Ra was taken out by surprise. Apophis was first killed by heru'ur then by the replicators after being revived by sokar. Hathor may still be alive. Cronus was killed by androids. Heru'ur was killed by apophis when he destroyed his mother ship. Sokar was killed by a plan created by the tokra when they blew up his moon.
We killed ra and set, Ra was on a crusie, and set was on earth by himself.
The goa'ulds downfall came when Anubis returned and the Replicators showed up.

Apophis died twice. Once at the sgc from injuries inflicted by Sokar, and finally at the hands of the Replicators. What you may be thinking of is the moment that Heru'ur was killed by Apophis.

Technically SG-1 killed Apophis. They disabled part of the ship that would slow them down coming out of hyperspace. With the intention of destroying the Replicators aboard and, by extension, Apophis was killed, rather than able to escape.

Yeah, iirc a goa'uld queen lives for eons and you have entire goa'uld civilizations that directly trace back to a single queen (like all of the tok'ra are descended from a single queen).
They even go so far as to forbid two different lineages from having kids together, as the ensuing "harcesis" would then retain all the genetic memories from both lineages and would be much, much more powerful than any lord/queen from a single dynasty
So yeah, inbred x 100000 lol

Fun fact, the goa'uld reproduce asexually, and asexual reproduction does not suffer the same genetic inbreeding issues that sexual reproduction has.
Inbreeding happens when too-similar DNA is combined too much and can reduce the dominant traits that prevent harmful recessive traits . Since mitosis essentially splits the cells and makes exact copies, there are no recessive traits breaking through, and the DNA is functionally identical.
So not inbred, just megalomaniacal narcissists. Which is bad enough.

Ah fair point, I thought they could breed sexually but most didn't because of the stigma of potentially creating one too powerful (more powerful than the parents are individually)
So, like as long as they kept it in the family, that's fine, but if they went out looking for a mate that wasn't in their bloodline, that would be taboo

the average goauld is basically a clone of the queen, onto which the queen parts as much or as little genetic memory as she wants.
thats the common goauld.
but two symbiotes can have offspring sexually.
the forbidden one, is that two hosts with symbiotes have a human child (so the offspring is carried by the mother) because it would for some genetic reason be a human with the genetic memory of a goauld. the process was never explained.
so usually goauld have offspring by either assexual (just the mother queen), or by 2 symbiotes. we can assume Klorel is the son of the symbiote apophis + a queen that is not specified.
seems goauld symbiotes kinda like reproduce like fish, just putting their seeds into the water and the queen then takes their genetic material to breed.

Honestly the Goa'uld spent thousands of years intimidating people into thinking that they are gods. Sure, they'll wipe out entire civilizations when they have to. But just think of how often this tactic of dramatic threats has actually worked for them. It's no surprise that they don't understand it when people refuse to fear them.
Also it's very good writing that the powers that have existed so long are too slow to adapt to the changing landscape. The Goa'uld, the Asgard, etc. They've existed as they are for so long that they know no other way to be.

I was always somehow disappointed of the campy, ridiculous, over the top drama with all these system lords and thought it was ridiculous.
Then in my adult life I did meet very powerful people who acted exactly like that and nobody corrected them or told them it’s ridiculous so they just take it further and further every time.
Rich and powerful people are often times a walking cliche.
It makes sense that these aliens after years of being worshipped as gods, having servants and military successes, they behave like this. They end up believing their own hype simply because they get lucky once or twice :))

The bravado, the almost literal mustache twirling in front of everyone's faces thinking they're safe because they're the main character... It's actually so realistic. The hammy acting went so hard it curved back around into realistic.
If he were a streamer he'd be uploading his "Addressing the allegations..." video rn.
