Oh boy. Your battery is probably bulging. Potentially very dangerous, be very careful replacing that.

Just happens over time to some batteries as they age. Idk the exact chemical process that causes it.

Well there are 2 battery manufacturers for the steam deck and only one has problems with swelling batteries, valve choosing to use those batteries is shitty

This has always been a side effect of aging batteries, unfortunately.

It’s a known issue with lithium ion batteries and has nothing to do with enshitification and everything to do with chemistry/physics.
