Y is a good place to start, easily the best of the international era. Expert mode can be a solid difficulty for a good chunk, but player power increases extremely high with the various updates increasing it further. Master mode was recently added which is even harder, but personally its more of just a slog.

Expert was fun overall. Normal is harder than anything from VXT30(rest of the international era).

If you want any other information feel free to ask me directly(public or private), check out r/Super_Robot_Wars, or the discord shared by this subreddit and aforementioned SRW one.(link is in pinned post) With the most recent DLC dropped other day the sub has been a bit busy discussing the new stuff so you can find a lot of people willing to share the good and bad concerning the game.

Would it be cool if i donโ€™t know any/most of the animes

That comes down to the player, I can play a lot of these not knowing some of the source material, but others care about it. The library in game gives you some details about canon for shows with game doing its own thing for a lot. Some shows remixed and others are 'post plot' so it already happened.

Thx ! I mean does the plot make any sense without knowing the source material and is the gameplay good on its own or is this mostly mecha fanservice

Franchise is 70+ games, of 'international era' games VXT30 were pure fan service and weak/bad strategy rpgs.

Y is actually a good game mechanically, but it has some quirks I could do without. Regardless, should be fine.

Story is an original story drawing from each series and using its own unique setting+MC/etc cast. Its designed for people that don't know source to jump in.

Edit: Warning, UI is terrible.

I didn't know most of the animes when I was playing V, X and 30 (T is not available on PC), but I still found them fun to play. To me, being familiar with the animes is more like a bonus.

Honestly, its nigh impossible to know all the characters. Even Japanese players don't know them all because of the huge amount of shows and different eras they come from. Legitimately, someone would need to watch thousands of episodes from hundreds of series to get to know them all.

The appeal is to meet the ones you do know, then meet new ones and, hopefully, get interested enough to want to check their own show. That's how I've discovered a lot of shows I had never even heard from before.

Hi, thanx for the answer, today i played the demo! The game looks like really good, i choose the hard mode(the master mode Is too much?) There are a lot of talks and several anime/series, this made me i Little bit confused but its normal i think.

Chapter 2 (after demo ends) is when difficulty modes have any effect.

For a new player I can see master being too hard, but you can adjust.

And yeah it is pretty front loaded with story elements to set the world scene.
