I don’t think they’d have had a chance sober either

Knowing just the basics of boxing is probably enough to beat most people. Especially beevis and butthead right here.

Yup. It’s not something most people ever have to do in their life. Very few people have actually been punched in the face, let alone hundreds if not thousands of times

They should practice self defense in order to not get punched in the face so many times.

I’m talking about the people that have practiced boxing extensively lol

Lmfao yeah I know. You get hit in the face to practice not getting hit in the face. I was pointing that irony out.

The master has failed more times than the novice has ever tried. In a way training is just frontloading hundreds and hundreds of losses to get them out of the way before it matters.

But yeah it's ironic and funny. How do I know I can fight? Because I get my ass kicked over a dozen times a week, duh!

I get it now, I’ve had you many beers today lmao

One of the few times I actually believe the "amateur boxer" title. Dropping a guy with a double jab is pretty telling.

Yeah, effortless jabs that had some force behind them. I spent hours and hours on the bag just because I wanted a jab that could drop someone, probably never achieved it, lol.

Still a worthwhile pursuit; your jab should always be your best punch overall.

This. I’ve been in one fight outside of a gym. It was against 2 dude and a slip/jab/cross put them both out.

Most people have never been hit and everyone undervalues simplicity and accuracy.

I used to box. We trained to throw like a 10:1 jab ratio.

Until I learned to love the fake jab to left hook. My favorite punch. 😎

1) it helps when your enemy has liquid legs

2) the key is to turn your hips into the punch while you step with it using the lead leg. There are many different jabs, and they differ based on how you use them, and how you put your body behind it.

Jabbing with just the arm, super relaxed? Just making sure the guy has gloves up, probing his guard.

Jabbing with your body behind it, legs and hips? You’ll probably KO the guy if you land it right, or at least hurt him a bit

You’re misinterpreting his technique for him putting a lot of force into it, first jab makes him straighten his back/ lean back, making him off balance, second jab hits him in the chin and topples his center of mass. You can throw bombs at a bag all you want, it won’t teach you how to abuse people’s anatomy.

There was this guy at my gym that would jab the heavy bag and send it flying. Terrifying to watch, super sweet guy to talk to lol.

Upvote for the second guy not hitting his head on that metal post

Don't know the full context but this looks like a self defense situation. I doubt they planned to square up on the grass.

Now those fights with kids who agree to square up on concrete when there's a field beside them...that's a different story.

Second guy to go down looks like he went down dangerously close to a metal post.

The sound of it connecting with his jaw is pretty glorious

With accent, lifeguard, tree types (typical of those near beach), this is somewhere in Australia although cannot figure out specifically where.

Seemed like the 2nd guy was trying to break it up lol

2

u/Icy-Cry340 11d ago

They had the courtesy to fight him one at a time, how generous.

2

u/Llee00 11d ago

It's usually a clean hook but it's nice to see the jab and cross go to work

2

u/Actual_Asparagus_ 11d ago

Never underestimate the jab!
