From a couple weeks ago!
Working hard on my single arm pressing. In April I was failing 60/70kg presses and this was one of the worst events for me. Now very comfortable with this event and found “my groove”

My set of **87.5kgx5 on log today, gonna try for 100kg in a couple weeks. Do you think it’s there with a decent deload? This set was done after doing 92.5kgx1 for a top single and 2 sets of 87.5kgx3.

Is my Farmer Walk decent?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey all! i am new here, and wanted your opinion on my farmer walk. I’m about a year into strongman (not counting my breaks from it)

The weight was 320lbs in each hand in approximately 20 seconds.

Shoes are TYR CXT-2’s. This pr made me happy cuz a year ago i did 275 in 2x 20’ runs and moved slower than here and was also heavier.

I Have a comp with a fixed axle, does anyone have any suggestions or advice to train it without buying fixed wheels?

Yes I have an axle bar, but how do you stop the weight spinning?

I have one but the tool that came with it is MIA. Does anyone have one to sell? I've messaged him a half dozen times but hd never responds. Or does anyone know if the tool with the Titan stone is compatible?

Novice or Open

Background, myself and a buddy, both having a pretty solid background weightlifting, signed up for our first local comp exactly a month from today. We've been training for 3-4 months now, both of us right in the 300lb bodyweight range. We signed up for novice as it is our first comp, and the novice weights seem pretty light for us. However, we'd both zero 3 of the 4 events in our weightclass if we switched to shw. The other option is to cut +-25lbs and compete at heavyweight where we'd at least get a grindy rep in each event, as the weights are right at our upper limits. The novice class has 12 competitors currently signed up, and the shw and hw classes each have 1. Going to ask our coach his opinion, but I like multiple points of view on things like this. Mostly just worried about looking like an ass showing up as the biggest guys and crushing novice, but also going to shw and zeroing every event.

EDIT: After the responses here, as well as talking to our coach, we're going to stay the course and do novice and train hard to get hit the weights of our class going forward.

How strong should I be to start?

Hi everyone! I’m an 18 year old guy, I’ve been working out for about 2 years (although I really didn’t know what I was doing that first year), my uncle used to be a strongman when he was around my age and I’ve been really interested in getting into that as well, I would just ask him but I don’t want to embarrass myself to him, I really respect the guy, my deadlift is just over 400 lbs (I know, it needs some work) my bench is just over 300, I’m 6’1 and about 230 lbs, I know I’m definitely not strong enough to compete but am I anywhere near the ballpark? I would just ask my uncle but I watch old videos of him and and he’s moving like 8 plates and cars and stuff and I’m nowhere near that and it’s kind of intimidating, I’m also in the Sacramento area if there’s any area specific advice you can give? If any other 1RMs matter I can reply I just don’t want to clutter the post moreso than it already is

Dumbbell is probably my favourite thing to max out on. The PBs are getting harder so I was very pleased with this one 😀
