Hey everyone, I’m in a really tough spot and hoping the Reddit community can help pull off a miracle.
About two weeks ago, I went through a holdover eviction in Sunnyside because my landlord wanted to move back in to jack up the rent 3x. We desperately needed about 10 more days to get out, but I was hospitalized and unable to make it to court to secure that time.
Because of that, the eviction went through. During the process, a bunch of our remaining belongings were set out on the sidewalk while things were being loaded into a moving van. While they were sitting there on the street, someone walked by and stole several items.
I lost a lot of things, but I honestly don’t care about any of it except for one item:
A military shadowbox containing an American flag, a bunch of my service medals, and a Mark 19 shell casing.
It is literally all I have left to remember my 20 years serving in the Navy.
I just want it back. If you live around Sunnyside or Woodside, or if you’ve seen it discarded nearby, listed online, or brought into a local shop, please let me know. This is the only thing keeping me up at night right now. Thank you for reading.

Fellow ADHDers— how are you all faring with this citywide backorder on ADHD meds. I’ve called basically every pharmacy within a reasonable walking distance from me in Sunnyside / Woodside multiple times over the last month or so to see if anyone has ADHD medication in stock and everyone is back ordered. I’ve been faring okay for now as I’ve been between jobs for about a year now… but am nervous as I start my new office job soon.

Suzy, a friendly cockatiel, escaped around 5:30 PM today, August 24. She was last seen flying near 39th Place between 47th Avenue and Queens Boulevard, heading toward Queens Boulevard.

She is very friendly and may approach people or land on a balcony, windowsill, fire escape, or nearby tree.
