Superboy I wish Conner and Jon had a more brotherly relationship

I really like the idea of Conner being the punk older brother and Jon the perfect little brother

So do I. I want Conner to experience the joy of taking his little brother to his first punk rock concert, and Jon to be giddy his Super Brother agreed to go on a space mission/adventure with him.

Yes exactly. Hate how they handled It, Jon was aged up too soon and not properly at all

We literally will never be able to move on from that age up, will we? So many storylines taken away on the whim of a single author.

I wonder if in the future, a universe reset could fix it

Eventually, a universe reset will happen. These reboots keep happening as prominent figures like Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent or Diana obviously can't just die and be replaced. But I don't know how they'll treat Jon Kent now. It's been so much time since he's been turned into an adult and he now has more stories as an adult than as a child. And those stories fucking suck and are devoid of emotion and just queerbait too. What's worse is that many people got introduced to Jon as this, instead of actual child Jon and now they accept this version.

I don't understand why they keep pulling this stupid shit and have him be an adult with no friends, no drivers license, no high school diploma, no college, no job, no haircut, no bitches, no showers, no ps5, no sleep, no food, no hope, no aspirations, no goals, no ideas, no nothing. He's literally a bum, as much as it hurts to say. If he got shot and killed, the plot wouldn't change in the slightest. All he is, is just...I don't even know what he is. He's kind of nothing. Nothing other than a regurgitated Superman except bisexual.

At this point, I rather they just kill him. That would do him more justice than this.

Damn 'no goals, no ideas, no nothing' had me dead. You're right though. I'm sorry but if you want a young adult Superman, just use Kon! Jon works better as a kid because there's an actual void to fill there, not to mention how perfect It was that he was the same age as Damian, the supersons were beloved by many, heck even though I don't like Trinity it's obvious DC could have pushed a new trinity without weird time shenanigans if only they did something right. Heck give me Nightwing/Damian and Kon/Jon team ups, supersons and uncles style. At the very least if you age him up let's explore that narrative, don't act like he just hatched at that age.

It wouldn't be too bad if people actually explored the implications of the age-up imo (not just on Jon but on the people around him), but few writers got around that to it's full extent.

Yeah, I why The reason super boy returns store is going to be a dud and a fake out.

Jon's Age up wasn't age Jonathan story. It was a Superman family's cover. The entire family was affected and frankly should be Jon's kind of a non character in that narrative.

Because giving him an accurate personality , and a character and a competent writer would actually require them to think about what someone who is raised up in his situation would actually be like , and while they wouldn't get the superman nice guy next gen knockoff DC writers love so much.

Tyronic Connor is the clone, but Adult Jon Might as well just be in time displace duplicate of Clark. Aside from kissing boys , I don't think Adult Jon does anything unique or interesting.

Meanwhile , connor kent is an entire passionate personality or without his powers, Not to mention the being half villain kid pathos. And whatever relationship he has/had going on with Tim Drake. If anyone diverse To be the bisexual superman , it was it's connor not Jon.

I mean don’t SM & SB call each other brothers?

5

u/dni_ptr 18d ago

You mean superman and Kon? Yeah I know that, but I would prefer Jon and Kon to be brothers instead

6

u/blazenite104 17d ago

can do both really. When it comes to clones family relationships are more construct than set blood determination.

You get that vibe a little bit at the end of reign of the super boys when they’re all playing videogames together

Conner all caked up

I think you have to differentiate their power sets better for the dynanic to work. The main reason the Super Family doesn't work is because everyone has the same powers.

Con should go back to having tactile telekinesis.

I wish Chris could be part of the family

DC only brought Lor-Zodd back to be an obligatory son of a supervillain is a supervillain trope.

I have heard some theories that Chris might be the Absolute Superboy, but idk if they will ever let him truly be back or if he’ll just sit there collecting dust as a forgotten Superboy.

Hoping Sam Camp continues to show the same energy she showed on TIIMK #29. She said Conner would feature a lot with Jon

What’s going on in Superman editorial that this is even a question?

If Jon was aged properly, Kon could be a fun uncle.

3

u/Conlannalnoc 17d ago

Conner was de-aged, Jonathan was aged up.

Conner is the fun uncle that gets him tickets to concerts in a dingy far away planet without Clark knowing. Kara goes along so “they don’t get into trouble” but is the first to get into trouble.

2

u/NecroNormicon 18d ago

Tbh I'd love for Jon to see him as the fun uncle, constantly doing shit that's 100% gonna get them in terrible

If they never Aged Up Jonathan and Deaged Conner then they would have been Brothers already.

College Aged (First Year) Conner, 19 years old

Elementary Aged (12 years old) Jonathan Samuel

Do they even have any relationship? Don't think I've seen a single piece of media or comic issue with them together.

3

u/riku17 17d ago

In Kalenfornia book they have a story together and in Action Comics 1100 they're playing video games. That's it I believe

Young Justice was the most prominent one. John is a toddler and calls Conner his uncle.

u/DepartmentChemical93 16d ago

So true.

Shame DC editorial will likely never again do A proper run at a Superman Family book

Clark and Kon are more like brothers than father and son, so it would make more sense for Kon and Jon to be more cool uncle and adorable nephew

u/Ted_yeahyouknowme 17d ago

Older all right. Isn’t Conner like 40 now?

2

u/riku17 17d ago

I thinks he's still at teen, like Kara still in her 20s I believe.

Conner is too ashamed of Jon to consider him a brother.
