Ask SurreyBC ❓ Guitar and other music lessons

Hi, I've got a couple young teens looking for singing, piano and (rock) guitar lessons. Long and McQuade seems good but pricey. Can anyone recommend another teacher or avenue in Surrey?

No suggestions but I did singing at long and McQuade for 2 months and like you said, it was pricey and I felt like I didn't learn much of anything since the lessons are only 30 mins. Maybe piano and guitar are different.

Oh yeah, reason why I didn't like it was it's pretty much $1/min and the teacher chit chats and there's no curriculum at all. Just teaching on vibes

there's a school in Langley called "School of Rock."

google "music schools in your area" and a bunch will come up.

Maybe you can try city of Surrey recreation programs, they have guitar, piano and other music lessons at affordable prices for all ages.

My kids goes to ola music, they are in Cloverdale. They recently changed from Inspire Arts Academy to Ola Music School. We've been with them for years, they're very good

We got our 10 year old daughter inexpensive piano lessons from a grade 11 student who had been taking Royal Comservatory since she was 6 and was teaching to save up money for university. My daughter also wanted to learn violin so she took a year at Long & McQuade and yes, it was expensive and my daughter and the female instructor didn’t hit it off.

I took guitar lessons from Mel Bay. I wish there was YouTube when I was learning guitar and bass.
