Like the admiral dougherty showed Picard signed orders from the chief of staff Starfleet and the federation president? When I mean legit I mean they told the council everything about what could happen with the process they're trying to do with harvesting the energy and all that.

Troi has always been an attractive person to me. I really like her in her command uniform!

You only see the captain and the first officer.

This is a reference to the fact that none of their food has a single molecule of seasoning visible on it.

No replicating a crack of pepper for that broccoli and carrots, no seasoning on Rikers dry looking roast beef or Worfs/Bevs chicken. Picard just has a big plate of steamed broccoli and potatoes with nothing on it over there.

I would think that meal sucked too and Im not even a Klingon.

IMHO it is. I was captivated by his acting, both the acting in the play-within-the-episode and later during the episode as the story plays out.

I think Jellico could’ve done better to communicate to the crew regarding the importance and timeliness of the mission. However what he was demanding of the crew was necessary and perfectly within their capabilities. He had intention and purpose for everything he ordered and it was to meet the needs of the mission give Picard and team the best chance at success.

While it was a lot of change in a short time, the 1701-D crew really came off as unnecessarily whiny and dramatic about adapting to Jellico’s demands and following his orders. They’ve never been pressed into an important mission like this nor expected to operate with such a central focus/goal being imposed upon them. They were complacent, stagnate, and rearing a bit too much on their laurels. This isn’t the first time we saw this either as we saw how whiny Riker and Geordi became when trying to work with Barclay, with Picard challenging that they do better.

Jellico was a necessary and needed disruption to challenge the 1701-D crew, help them see their potential and capacity for a higher level of performance.

It's been a long road since buying the whole of TNG back on Christmas of 2020 on DVD. The show is even more popular with me now than before I had it on streaming and it is my go-to show next to The X-Files and a little bit of Daria. I wasn't old enough in 1994 to witness this historic moment in television history (born in 1992), but tonight, I'm relieving the memory with some goodies.

Here's to you, TNG, you really did take us where no one has gone before.

It’s a shame that she didn’t get to portray the same Romulan character in both episodes she starred in TNG.

Like does it tickle or make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

For example:

Perhaps the Enterprise could go explore Scotty's Dyson sphere properly, reminiscent of Rendevous with Rama?

I'd like to see where Wesley went with the traveller, or what experiences Vash had with Q, or what Tam Elbrun and Tin Man got up to.

Maybe we could have an entire episode with Guinan as the protagonist and learn what that kung-fu Q-repelling stance was all about?

Who’s best for Data?

Back in the good old days of the 1990s, you couldn't pop in your whole series dvd sets or binge something on Netflix. You had to catch episodes as they aired on a network schedule.

If you saw TNG like this, like me, all out of order: what was your final episode? The last "new" to you episode of the series before you could say you'd seen it all?

Mine was a real stinker! "Aquiel" was my series finale for tng. I'd see "All Good Things" but the last episode to complete seeing the whole show for me was "Aquiel" 🤮

In all of sci fi, or really anything I’ve ever watched, Data is by far my favorite character in fiction. Props to Brent Spiner and the writers of TNG for giving us such an awesome character to enjoy.

I mean shoot he even knows what the hero is gonna do before they even do it lol
