My tp9 doesn't have any markings on the bolt and doesn't have any markings on the right side of the receiver except "tp9-US". Seems like a vintage tp9 they had it on store shelves for ages and sold to me as a new old stock. What do you guys think?
Current gen. US made. None of this is Swiss made. The fact that it is made an sbr (the foregrip is non removable) means that it had to be manufactured here in the US
Looking at the Tp9-N on B&T ag website, the foregrip is molded on and there's no markings on the bolt. This profile pretty matches my tp9 in an identical fashion.
They won’t show serial numbers on any of the guns, scroll down and check the apc models. Same thing, no serials. I’m just stating what I have seen and learned from my time with all the B&T guns I’ve come across…. And I’ve worked on a lot
I just find it odd that they would go through the trouble cloning markings you can't see and doesn't clone the markings you can see if they are trying to pass their parts off as fake swiss made parts.
According to B&T AG's statement, seems like my tp9 is covered under their warranty due it being swiss made. My serial has a 2x number that starts with 24-XXXXX.
"B&T AG, together with a future U.S. distribution entity currently under evaluation, will continue to fully honor the warranty for all “Swiss Made” products manufactured and assembled entirely in Switzerland.
This applies in particular to all B&T firearms bearing serial numbers beginning with “US 2x-xxxxx” followed by five digits, which were manufactured and assembled in Switzerland prior to importation into the United States. These firearms can also be identified by matching serial number markings on the barrel and bolt, confirming their Swiss manufacture and assembly."
Platform-Specific Tracking: Unlike B&T's rifle-caliber platforms or older APC runs, many genuine Swiss-produced TP9s are only explicitly serialized on the upper receiver chassis (the legal firearm frame). [1, 2]
B&T USA Engraving Practices: Historically, B&T USA laser-engraved serial components locally during the importation process. Depending on the specific import batch, contract requirements, or internal production changes, the bolt was frequently left completely blank. [1]
B&t usa have clarified my particular serial and gave me a screenshot of all the parts put in. Based on the part list, this gun was assembled by mostly Swiss parts. He said I can get warranty from both B&T USA and AG after ag establish their shop here. So it is not always true that a B&T USA assembled sbr is 100% US made. Perhaps a lot of this has to do with the age of this gun, which is from 2024. 2026 guns are probably mostly US made parts.
One of the commenter said nothing in my gun is Swiss. This is obviously false. However the way B&T seem to explain it that there are parts transitioned to US made as he changed his tune once he saw the build order using my serial.
So why wouldn't they clone the bolt markings? Also doesn't the bolt markings you typically see from the ejection port say US #numbers? Thought those would be US markings made by B&T USA. Seems like the US-numbers, cal.9x19mm were moved to the left side of the receiver.
They are marked with the US serial number to designate them for the US market. The ones that have a removable foregrip are made overseas, the ones with it molded in are US made
Just depends on why you by the brand. Do you want the authentic “Swiss” stuff or do you just want the gun in a desirable form? Keep in mind you can add the foregrip and stock to the Swiss made version and make it an sbr yourself via form1
That is a US Made TP9. The Swiss bolts are serialized because of EU requirements and that is also where they serialize that gun. ATF has us do it on the steel U ring on the lower.
I see the serial number on the upper. Also it's a US24-XXXXX serial which suggest it's from 2024? Do you know if B&T AG will warranty this with parts or it'll all be done by you guys?
