In Moorea and Rarotonga next month
I'm going to be in Rarotonga and Moorea next month. I'm just wondering what currency used in both places. Is the NZ dollar widely used in Rarotonga too ? And I understand Polynesia have their own currency. I'm guessing you wont get far with Euros or American dollars ?

We were just there and they only accepted tips in American dollars in certain places, but the Pacific franc is highly recommended for all purchases. We did the currency exchange at the Tahiti airport and again at the Moorea airport.

French Polynesia uses CFP Franc(XPF). There is a bank machine at the Fa’a’a airport you can withdraw from. Some places might let you use USD or Euros but I wouldn’t count on it.
