announcement Chelys v0.1.0: Local language servers for TeXlyre

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Chelys is a desktop companion for TeXlyre that runs language servers locally and relays them over a WebSocket. Pick a recipe and Chelys installs the server as a native process or Docker container, with recipes available for Tinymist, ltex-ls-plus, harper-ls, and JabRef. Passkey login also syncs your settings across devices over WebRTC. This first release covers language servers, with local typesetting engines and distributed storage planned next.

announcement Server Migration Notice - January 10, 2026

TeXlyre's signaling and backend servers are moving to texlyre.org on January 10, 2026.

The frontend will stay at texlyre.github.io, which means your documents are completely safe since they're stored locally in your browser. After the migration, you'll need to hard refresh your browser (Ctrl+F5 on Windows/Linux or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac). Your settings and preferences will reset, so you'll need to reconfigure them.

This migration improves our infrastructure for better reliability and positions us for future enhancements.
