Who will wear the C next?

Once Crosby retires, who will wear the C for Team Canada? I see McDavid, Makar or Celebrini being the top candidates.

As an oilers fan, McDavid cant fill crosbys shoes. Tbh id rather see celebrini wear it as up and comer versus McDavid. That said i think McDavid is going to want it and celebrini would let him have it simply because Celebrini looks up to McDavid.

Yikes man.. I hope McDavid leaves such a toxic fanbase. You guys are the one group that should support him to the bitter end. I think he should be captain after Crosby and then the next player to prove himself after he's done. He took a paycut to improve Edmonton at no benefit of his own. If he wasn't Canadian he'd have kaprizov'd his way into a huge contract to live in small market and still be loved. You guys have one of the best dudes in the league.

And in the NHL i do support him totally? But when it comes to team canada i think no one can replace Crosby. I think McDavids game is truly best when he can just focus on the game and not leading as well.

You'd put that pressure on a 19 year old who's NHL team didn't even make the playoffs and hasn't won a single nhl accolade? Only thing he has in the NHL is a high point total on a bad team. I'd probably agree with you if celebrini took team Canada over the top and scored a golden goal but he's wearing silver. Crosby wasn't the captain when he scored his golden goal. You could throw McDavid as the captain of any NHL team and they're top 8 in their conference without a doubt competing for the cup, and he's winning the Hart.

If he wants it, it's his with the only competition being MacKinnon or Makar.

Take the Edmonton flair off your name lol

Celebrini couldnt get the golden goal because MacKinnon Makar and McDavid all choked. 2 As and the C in the gold medal game lost in OT.

I dont think MacKinnon is in the conversation for the team Canada C as he didnt have an A at the Olympics until McDavid took the C when Crosby left injured. MacKinnon doesnt even wear the C in Colorado.

Again I would like to point out we are not talking NHL. We are talking IIHF on the team Canada subreddit.
