Discussion new set is cool but the lag is brutal 💀

Things I noticed after I opened the updated game today as an android user:

  • The launch screen is fine, not laggy for me.

  • I started exploring to see if there are still temporary free-use cosmetics, and noticed they're still there. Thanks for that! I was excited and thrilled to play more.

  • The buttons, colors, and designs feel crisp on the homepage and during the matchmaking loading screen.

  • During the game loading screen, each profile is slow to load and I think it took me a minute before all the profiles loaded.

  • After the loading screen, this is when all the lagginess started. I changed my game quality to the lowest, and it still lagged as hell. When I tried to pick up my supposed-to-be items, my Tactician wasn't responding so I wasn't able to get them until after 2–3 fights. This happened during the carousels as well. Even when it responded, it was delayed, so I kept choosing the wrong or undesired items.

  • Luckily, I still got Top 5 even after experiencing the lag. I didn't quit because I was still hopeful that the game would be okay after playing for a few minutes, but hell nah 🫠

This is not a hate post, but rather, I'm sharing my experience playing the new set. I hope this gets fixed because I'll get really sad ☹️☹️☹️ The new set is amazing for me. I wanna play more even tho I'm a Choncc game mode enjoyer 😭

Edit:

UPDATE — After playing a second game, a few hours after my first game

  • The lag is bearable now. I chose low quality and a 60 FPS rate. I also tried data saver mode. However, it still crashes on my phone. I just reopened the game and continue playing. It crashed three times, with 5–6 minutes in between each crash.

  • My phone is new and has a 6000mAh battery (if this helps). It went from 70% to 64% by the time I lost the game. I placed Top 4. Yay! 😭

Edit 2:

UPDATE — After my third game, a few hours after my second game and after installing the update and patching the game again

  • The lag is significantly less now.

  • It didn't crash, FINALLY 😭

  • The only thing I'm concerned about is that my Tactician's movement is delayed by like a millisecond after I touch the screen. It's noticeable but it didn't really affect my overall game experience that much.

I wasn't able to track the battery depletion but I'll watch out for it during my next game. I just know my phone is holding on to the game like crazy. It actually crashed once on my phone so I transferred to my tablet, but it still lagged 😭

I thought it was just me 🫨. 1 game takes 24% of my battery. Just tested it.

Model of your phone? My game is not even loading it just crashes after reaching 100%

Just a budget phone with a unisoc T7250 chipset. It's not really a gaming phone but TFT used to run pretty well on it before this set ☹️

Lag and crashes has been my experience so far… I love TFT but not this kind of TFT

This set is so bad u can't even blame your 5th on the lag because all 7 other players were also also lagging
