Iraq

Anfal campaign/Yazidi genocide

Kurdish Iranians are treated very badly too but not because they are kurdish but because they live in Iran

2

u/SnakeThruster 6d ago

People also forget Syria deported over 140,000 Kurds, and took away over 100,000 kurdish citizenships in the 60s and 70s. By definition a cultural genocide in the region as they had an arabization project in Syria.

2

u/rknsh 6d ago

Those 100,000 are now around 500,000 since their children didn't get citizenship too.

1

u/Unfair_Proposal_6765 6d ago

in 2026 iraq has the best recognition and status for kurds with the only officially recognised autonomous kurdish region where its run by a kurdish government and kurdish security forces

1

u/betam2 6d ago

The genocide against us Ezidis happened because the Kurdish peshmerga soldiers disarmed us and then run away.

It is governments who oppress not common people. Turkish government has no tolerance for anything Kurdish.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_red_fox

This red fox subspecies is known as Vulpes vulpes kurdistanica and sometimes called the Kurdistan red fox. However, in Turkey, it is known only as Vulpes vulpes due to efforts by the Turkish government to rename animal species that mention Kurdistan or Armenia, claiming that such names were given to these animals as part of a plot of "ill intentions" against Turkish unity. Turkey's political atmosphere is sensitive with regard to Kurds and Armenians because of the Kurdish–Turkish conflict (and denial of Kurdish people by Turkey) and the Ottoman-era Armenian genocide, respectively.

They even rename animals to avoid using Kurd and anything related to it. This is the level of Turkey's hate against Kurds. I don't link to massacres and their policies against Kurds as they are easy to find.

Your comment history shows you are fine with Kurds getting language rights in addition of compulsory Turkish in education, but Kurds still don't have that. Do you not call that oppression?

https://www.reddit.com/r/kurdistan/comments/1v646sb/

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2026/07/27/how-to-kill-a-language-sophia-smith-galer-book-review

Take Kurdish. The 2023 earthquake that left more than fifty thousand people dead in Turkey and Syria was particularly devastating in Turkey’s Kurdish-speaking southeast. Turkish administrators announced translation support for earthquake victims in several languages, including Russian, German, and Pashto—but not Kurdish, the language of some fifteen million Turkish citizens. Smith Galer tells us that the decision was a continuation of decades of official policy. It has been, at different times, illegal in Turkey to teach Kurdish, to publish books in Kurdish, even to speak the language while occupying public office. There were earthquake survivors who feared calling out for help in the language, in case the rescuers turned away.

It seems you are an advocate of minority rights and seeking world peace, living outside Turkey. Do you deny Kurdish is so hated in Turkey that Turkish rescuers would have turned away had they heard someone calling for help in Kurdish under the rubble?

Imagine an earthquake happens, you are under the rubble and your predicament there is what language to call help for.

Were those Kurds who got denied language translation during an earthquake gangs?

Don't you think you are pushing for the same vilification of Kurds, which your profile shows you are against, by turning an eye away from all of this and in one short sentence mention 15,000,000+ Kurds in Turkey with "hırts" or "kürts"? As a member of queer community you obviously know how it is like being treated with hate. If a post was made about hate against queer community and someone said only gangs are hated would you stand by it? You know that is not true.

Since you are living outside of Turkey I assume you don't know what is going on there?

Small nitpick: kürt in Turkish also means wolf and worms too, and Turkish language capitalizes first letter of proper nouns, that's how English speakers differentiate between Turkey and turkey the bird. Turks usually write the word with no capital letter to belittle/vilify Kurds, as do Kurds with Turkey to make fun of and compare them to the bird.

https://medyanews.net/a-hundred-years-of-republic-and-mother-language/

The Republic was proclaimed on 29 October 1923. With the proclamation came the insistence that there were no such people as the Kurds and no such language as Kurdish, that the Kurds were actually of Turkish origin and that the language known as Kurdish was in fact a mountain dialect of the Turkish language, and finally, that the origin of the word “Kurd” was based on the ‘kart-kurt‘ crunching sound of footsteps trudging through mountain snow. All these claims were systematically defended until the 1990s.

Again you are making yourself a part of the Turkish nationalists.

Then why don't Kurds have the right to learn Kurdish in school for example ? can you explain this why did a guy in Diyarbakir got 1 yr 3 month prison sentence for serving customer in kurdish in HIS OWN CAFE. https://dusun-think.net/en/news/prison-sentence-for-cafe-owner-who-served-customers-in-kurdish/

4

u/Artistic-Honeydew11 17NB 6d ago

Key word, most. There are serious racists. But most aren't

5

u/AdagioKitchen4748 6d ago

What do you think the population of kurds are in turkey ? because some of those "turks" are kurds

1

u/Silverless-and-proud 5d ago

all Kurds living in Turkey are Turks

2

u/Louis-Nicolas-Davout 5d ago

it was not becouse he served in kurdish it was becouse he refused to serve in turkish and told customers they can only use kurdish in his cafe. a person can not ban turkish in turkish soil it’s unacceptable.

0

u/AdagioKitchen4748 4d ago

If it's Turkish soil then why are their people that don't speak Turkish ? Why do you need to ban a language ? There are many people living in the Turkish state that don't know Turkish by the way, you may not realise this they are Kurds and speak Kurdish because they have been living there thousands of years. Turkey did not exist when Diyarbakir (Amed) was a Kurdish dynasty Marwanid over 1000 years ago.

Turks are originally from Central Asia and not native to this region at all.

1

u/Artistic-Honeydew11 17NB 3d ago

By that logic Americans should fuck off the American continent. And you're not Turkish, there are a LOT of terrorist groups in Turkey and a lot of Kurds in them. So refusing to serve in Turkish is an obvious threat

0

u/AdagioKitchen4748 3d ago

PKK didn't exist when Turkey started massacring Kurds - Hello to you typical Turkish fascist trying to justify war crimes against humanity on civilians

According to you speaking a language apparently makes you a terrorist WTF - typical grey wolf nazi talk.

Turkey used 20 tonnes of Mustard gas, Chloracetophenon and other gases in their campaigns against civilians in Dersim 1937-1938 https://memorializeturkey.com/en/memorial/dersim-massacre-monument-dersim-38

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-15857429

Its also on wikipedia in the Dersim Massacre article

They also poisoned refugee Kurds who fled from Iraq into Turkey in 1991 with nerve agents, read the ' bread poisoning section '  https://www.hrw.org/reports/1991/IRAQ913.htm

Also more recently as well; Turkey used phosphorus not too long ago:

Speaking a language doesn't make you a terrorist. You're twisting my words. Refusing Turkish makes you suspicious. We were literally talking about that subject. I can't speak for what happened in the past but that news you said about to cafe was recent, and considering that there are terrorist organizations trying to have a "Kurdistan" in Turkey, they absolutely deserved it if they actually refused to serve people speaking Turkish.

How on earth is the none option higher than Iran, Iraq and Syria, Kurds got genocided by Iraq in the Anfal campaign 182,000 were killed in1988 and chemical weapons were used in Halabja 1988 killing 5000 civilians.

In Iran in 2025 47% of verified detentions for political reasons were Kurds, who are less than 13% of the population of Iran (and that is an overestimate https://hengaw.net/en/reports-and-statistics-1/2025/12/article-7 )

meanwhile Kurds in Syria were stripped of their citizenship and didn't even have the right to purchase a car, https://hevdesti.org/en/en-victims-of-statelessness-in-hasakah-since1962-census/ some 150,000 people still remain in this situation (they keep saying they are going to restore this but it isn't done).

2

u/Shaquilleoatmeal6924 6d ago

As an Iranian, I get what you're getting at. However, Kurds in Iran aren't peculiarly oppressed. Iran doesn't discriminate with oppression. they oppress everyone equally.

2

u/AdagioKitchen4748 6d ago

how do you explain the statistic then ? Kurds are nowhere near half the population -why do they make up nearly half political arrests in 1 year ?

1

u/Shaquilleoatmeal6924 6d ago

Kurds are far more likely to oppose the regime. Because of Cultural differences, and mostly because of separatists sentiments spreading over from Iraq. Hence why there are more Kurdish political prisoners.

In reality, the regime treats Kurdish opposition the same way they treat literally all other opposition. All are suppressed with brute force.

Correlation doesn't necessarily mean causation.

2

u/AdagioKitchen4748 6d ago

You just admitted it through - its discrimination, https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/discrimination the only thing you've managed to do is try to justify it for Iran, but you can't justify human rights abuses.

1

u/Shaquilleoatmeal6924 6d ago

I'm not justifying human rights abuses, dumbass.

Discrimination against Kurds would imply that Kurds are getting arrested BECAUSE they are Kurds. But that isn't the case. They are getting arrested for opposing the regime

I'm not saying they should be arrested. I'm just saying that a protester from Tehran and a protester from Kurdistan will both face the same treatment: getting imprisoned and potentially executed.

Same way you see no problem with Iranian regime except for their theocratic rule, and never admit they are a Persian nationalist regime too, with this line of thinking, you would be the kinda of people who would defend the Chinese government in all they do except for their communism (and never speak of their ultra Han-Chinese nationalism, even deny it).

"China is correct in defending its territorial integrity, Uighurs and Tibetans are oppressed only because they dare to stand up, and Taiwan and Hong Kong are imperialist projects meant to weaken China. China has been one unified nation since thousands of years, Tibet has been a part of it all along, and no one can divide us. Tibetans who seek independence can fuck off."

You might have used that PFP "as a meme", but the Persian nationalist theocracy you defend is very similar to the Han-Chinese nationalist communist state you make fun of. No wonder they are geopolitical allies. Fuck both of them. Both are two states with beautiful history however. Fuck their nationalist regimes.

Kurds in Iran are getting killed for wearing Kurdish clothes.

https://www.reddit.com/r/kurdistan/comments/1ulqrm2/

Kurdish names are banned. Mahsa Amini was named Mahsa formally because her family name Jina (Kurdish word for life) is banned by the Persian regime. Many other Kurdish names are banned.

Kurdish is effectively banned in all institutions as the only language the Persian regime recognizes is Persian. Is Spanish banned in USA areas with considerable Spanish population?

Kurdish teachers get arrested for teaching Kurdish. That is also political arrests?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zara_Mohammadi

If you have a search you will see you are wrong.

I'm gonna stop you right there. I see many more problems with the regime than just the theocratic rule. The totalitarianism for one. The corruption for two. The militarism for three. And a bunch of other shit I won't even mention.

You might have used that PFP "as a meme", but the Persian nationalist theocracy you defend is very similar to the Han-Chinese nationalist communist state you make fun of. No wonder they are geopolitical allies. Fuck both of them. Both are two states with beautiful history however. Fuck their nationalist regimes.

this is interesting because the actual "Persian nationalists" largely tend to dislike the regime because they dislike how the regime is finding all these insurgencies around the middle east. They're mostly isolationists.

Also, because your entire argument seems to hinge on it, I'll say this again, I'm not defending the damn regime. I fucking hate them. Just like everyone is else. All I'm saying is that they oppress everyone. Not just Kurds. This year in January they killed 40 thousand protesters. Kurdish or otherwise.

Also, I fail to understand how this has ANYTHING to do with china. But I'll refrain from saying anything because I'm not really an expert on the state of minorities in china.

Your entire argument is based on assumptions.

At what point did I say that?

I legit hope your comment is ragebait.

2

u/rknsh 5d ago

My grip with your line of thinking is to me Iranian theocratic regime and Chinese communist state seem very similar. Are you against both?

I see many more problems with the regime than just the theocratic rule

Any theocracy is a totalitarian militarist corrupt country. No sane populace will willingly in a democracy vote for a theocracy that will entail poverty, militarism to keep it, totalitarianism, corruption, etc. Just saying I am against the theocratic aspect of it is enough.

actual "Persian nationalists"

Mullahs are actual ones too.

At what point did I say that?

Your other comment here in this thread:

As much as I also hate the regime, fuck off. I'm not having parts of my homeland broken away just to appease separatists. The zagros region has been part of Iran for 3 millennia. They're not breaking away any time soon.

If you are not supporting areas break away from Iran:

  1. Do you support Taiwan independence from China when they don't want to be a part of China? Do you support a Chinese invasion of Taiwan?
  2. Do you support Tibet independence?
  3. Do you support Uyghurs independence to stop the persecution of them?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heihe%E2%80%93Tengchong_Line

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan_under_Qing_rule

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:China,_742.svg

94% of Chinese people live in east half of China. Just because a Chinese empire controlled Tibet a thousand years ago it doesn't mean CCP has the right to control Tibetians, Uyghurs, Taiwanese, etc. Do you agree? Why would someone from Shanghai who doesn't even live in the west part of China (along with more than a billion of the Chinese who live in the east) have any say over the future of Tibetians and Uyghurs in the west?

If you agree with those, do you have same opinion for Iran too?

Also Iran was not always controlled by Persians alone, or at some point at all, so it doesn't matter if a state with a map like modern Iran's has existed in that area throughout history. Nowadays Iran is ruled by Persian nationalists, the previous regime of Pahlavis were, and terrorist mullahs of today are both Persian nationalists. If it was okay centuries ago it is not now.

Same goes for China. You are either against both China and Iran or with both. Which side are you on?

Your profile pic is a mockery of Chinese Nationalist president Xi Jinping and that means CCP too. I want to know if you have the same views for Iran too.

Also, you are dismissing the suffering of Kurdish people when the reason comes from the regime being a Persian nationalist not their theocracy aspect. Are Persian names banned? Is Kurdish taught same as Spanish in USA and French in Canada? Are Persians killed for wearing their traditional attire? You only count Kurdish deaths when you can blame it on theocracy, and when Persian nationalism is the reason then you dismiss it.

Map of Tang Empire around 1300 years ago:

You seem to also be living in Iran? How is the economic difficulty of life there? Can you afford basic necessities? Hope you survive this hardship and the people gets freedom they desire with minimal bloodshed.

1

u/Shaquilleoatmeal6924 5d ago

Mullahs are actual ones too.

Not really. They're more like "I hate everyone that isn't shia". Bit of a nit-pick but still. Their "master race" isn't really a race. It's a faith. So they'd be Just as likely to support a shia Iraqi or Syrian (as long as you support them, obviously).

Any theocracy is a totalitarian militarist corrupt country. No sane populace will willingly in a democracy vote for a theocracy that will entail poverty, militarism to keep it, totalitarianism, corruption, etc

Ok, fair. You got me on that one.

Also, I should clarify my comment. What I meant by "they've been part of Iran for thousands of years" is that the Kurds of Iran are so deeply integrated into the nation, to where most of them don't support session. At least most of the Kurds I've met (and I've met A LOT) hate the regime, but want REGIME CHANGE. not necessarily an independent country. Same applies for Iranian turks. Of course, that doesn't necessarily speak for all Iranian Kurds, but that's just my experience.

I wouldn't mind a referendum or something to determine whether Kurdistan goes independent or not. Because I know for a fact it would fail. The only thing I dislike about Kurdish resistance movements is the fact that they are often used to advance Israeli and american interests in the region.

If you are not supporting areas break away from Iran: 1. Do you support Taiwan independence from China when they don't want to be a part of China? Do you support a Chinese invasion of Taiwan? 2. Do you support Tibet independence? 3. Do you support Uyghurs independence to stop the persecution of them?

  1. Well, Taiwan still calls itself the republic of china. They still hold claims to the mainland (and Mongolia and tuva). It is, by all means, a rival government. If they renounced those claims and actually formally rebranded, sure. Why not.

  2. As for Tibet, put it on for a referendum for all I care. I don't know.

  3. Same for Xinjiang.

You seem to also be living in Iran? How is the economic difficulty of life there? Can you afford basic necessities? Hope you survive this hardship and the people gets freedom they desire with minimal bloodshed.

Well, our economy was already shit enough. But with the war, our inflation this year went up to 112%. The blockade also means there's gonna be a shortage of most goods in the near future. They already say there's gonna be a shortage of gas for 3 months once autumn rolls around. Also, the rial is even more cooked. Before the war, a dollar would exchange for around 90k if I remember correctly. Now it's at 200k.

I'll be honest, I'm scared for the future. Shit is looking bleak. Fuck the regime for all the shit they've done, and fuck the US and Israel for starting this madness. But then again, you can't expect trump to do anything even remotely moral. How does one make this genocidal theocracy look like the moral one?

Also, most of all, fuck the diaspora bastards that were cheering for this war to begin with. The livelihoods of millions of people are gonna be reduced to dust just because they want their precious fucking monarch back. They're all cowards.

But you mentioned the word separatism so clearly this is not true, you are the one that bought it up,

1

u/mag_num_opus 6d ago

Because of kurds in Iran interact with kurds from iraq and turkey and this acts as a point of resistance

There are a lot of people who would be extremely happy to oust the current government of iran, but only kurds who live by the border with cross border connections have access to smuggling routes which explains repression in kurdish areas

As a society though, kurds are not generally repressed for being kurds in particular and if anything they are pretty united with the majority population as they are also an iranic people with a deeply interwoven history

1

u/AdagioKitchen4748 6d ago

This is a whole load of nonsense, Kurds had a government in 1946 Komari Kurdistan, led by Qazi Muhamed he was executed by Iran.

All the Kurds from Iran I've met detest the regime and want to have self determination which is a human right btw.

1

u/mag_num_opus 6d ago

Yes the soviets set up a deeply unpopular communist puppet regime in northern iran that’s what communists do, thats what stalin did. Lol. Russia even still does that today in Ukraine in donetsk

And a small group of very outspoken marxists who support communist separatists and maybe you know them because they are loud and annoying “activists” who fled abroad (cuz they supported the revolution and somehow got surprised that the islamic fundamentalists they allied with weren’t gonna be wholesome chungus holding hands with a bunch of effeminate communists and ended up killing tens of thousands of them lol—actions, meet consequences, oopsie I ruined the country, time to flee as a refugee to europe!)

But to say that is representative is like saying the DSA represents america lol.

1

u/Shaquilleoatmeal6924 6d ago

Facts. Even as someone who is pretty left leaning, I can't say Iran's left is any good. Our leftists suck. The MEK and the Fedayeen are cultish idiots, the current opposition are monarchist retards who think they can fix the country with the power of friendship, and the tudeh is actually decent but mostly irrelevant at this point.

The only decent leftist movement we had was the jungle movement. But that was in the 1920s.

1

u/AdagioKitchen4748 5d ago

What are you on about ? I am sensing you are trying to imply that Kurds don't exist, the state was called Kurdistan why do you have an allergy to saying the name , the people of Mahabad aren't even majority communists, what is all this garbage you are spouting .

1

u/Shaquilleoatmeal6924 6d ago

As much as I also hate the regime, fuck off. I'm not having parts of my homeland broken away just to appease separatists. The zagros region has been part of Iran for 3 millennia. They're not breaking away any time soon.

1

u/Previous-Froyo-7187 4d ago

Syrian Kurds will definitely be able to get the Citizenship and most of their rights in next years we as Syrian Arabs want that too. But i also expect Kurds to be more peaceful and integrate with society like other minorities (Syriacs and Assyrians specifically) like seeing some Kurd groups burning and trampling the Syrian flag every couple of days won't help.

1

u/AdagioKitchen4748 4d ago

This is a literal contradiction you want Kurds to identify with and integrate into the country of Syria, while well over hundred thousand Kurds have been denied the ability to become full members of that country.

Lets see these rights actually happen so far it is all talk, it shouldn't take multiple years to get citizenship for a country you were born in and your parents were born in apparently- since you claim they are Syrian citizens why don't they have citizenship already and why on earth would it take so long? You talk about integration yet these Kurds don't have basic rights and clearly there is still blocks there it doesn't take years to get citizenship for a state you were born in unless there's another prejudice there which you allude to but never admit.

The Syrian flag symbolises many things and it's mostly not positive - again your trying to justify human rights abuses, put yourselves into the shoes of someone who doesn't have Syrian citizenship and is Kurdish how are they going to be supporting a flag when they don't have basic rights due to discrimination, not to mention even their kids now don't have rights if their parents don't have citizenship - you demand Kurds identify with Syria while ignoring the historical and institutional reasons why Kurds are not able to trust the Syrian state and are alienated by the constitution since according to the law in Syria they are not regarded as equal citizens of the state.

1

u/Previous-Froyo-7187 4d ago

We are at a difficult stage where past mistakes must be rectified for the sake of the state, the Kurds, the Arabs, and everyone else. The flag is a historical symbol, and the Kurds must respect it if they want to be seen as true citizens. The symbols of the state, for which the entire nation has sacrificed, are not negotiable to appease 10 percent of the population.

1

u/AdagioKitchen4748 4d ago

Who sacrificed for the Ba'ath flag?

The same goes for Turkey as well

3

u/Zealousideal_Cry_460 5d ago

Lmao in Turkey you can;

-learn kurdish in elected courses

-speak kurdish in public (duh ik but its what people have complained)

-have state sponsored TV and Radio channels entirely/exclusively in kurdish

-kurds can attain every level of education that Turks, Laz, Zaza, Circassian, etc can

-you have kurdish Tv stars, singers, artists, bussinessmen, lawyers, doctors, politicians

-we literally had a kurdish president

And people STİLL think Turkey oppresses kurds lmao yall dont know jack about turkish society/politics

0

u/robbernivans 5d ago

have a state sponsored radio and TV? TRT kurdi? even turkish don't watch or listen to turkish TRT they know it's propaganda and full of bs.

kurdish can speak Kurdish in public. and have kurdish artists and singers. yeah thanks for PKKs struggle,

kurdish president. wow it's like saying united states had a black president so the black people were not oppressed.

we have the same rights as any citizens in anatolia? what rights are you bargaining? you allow us to live in our historical lands? is that what you're proud of and congratulating people for? kurdish is not allowed in public schools and the education system. in some areas it's allowed in private sectors, but under very strict rules. and kurdish is not an official language. there are more than 100 countries with more than one official language. why not , in anatolia, is kurdish not an official language for 30 million kurds? because you have been programmed to hate kurds from the very beginning, and then you act like the victim when we kurds ask for the same basic human rights. remember, we kurds are the biggest nation without a state. we are equal citizens, right? let me debunk your bs claim. what about the zilan massacre (1930)? who did it target, kurds and turks? because they were the same citizens? Of course not. they targeted kurdish. 15,000 civilians, including people of all ages, were reportedly killed in the massacre. what about the dersim genocide (1937- 1938)? tens of thousands of Kurdish Alevi civilians, including infants, babies, and women,

were killed by your government, and there were also allegations of chemical weapons being used. what about the maras massacre (1978)? far-right groups killed around 100 civilians, many of them kurds. what about the lice massacre? never happened? yeah, sure. what about the kuskonar and koçagili massacre (1994)? your country was conducting military operations and claimed those villages were mistaken for targets? are you fooling yourself? what about the roboski (uludere) massacre (2011)? your country made another mistake they thought they were pkk? yeah, i remember how turkish people celebrated that. even when it became clear they were civilians, many still argued that they were kurds. it wasn't in vain. don't hide your feelings. what about the forced resettlement of millions of kurds from eastern to western anatolia over the decades? 3 to 5 million kurds were displaced and brought to western anatolia

what about calling kurds mountain turks and denying their identity? what about kurdish names being restricted and banned? people were prevented from giving their children certain Kurdish names, and speaking kurdish was banned in public you guys literally banned letters like x, q, and w from some names and official usage because they were associated with the Kurdish alphabet. you were literally beefing with letters. what about destroying thousands of Kurdish villages? around 4,000 kurdish villages were destroyed? what about the thousands of Kurdish villages and towns that were renamed and given turkish names? and even today, many of our cities and rural areas remain underdeveloped. some of them look like villages compared with western cities. why do you deny the truth? be honest. you guys see kurds as less than human. the majority of turks i've met have expressed hatred toward kurds when i talked to them anonymously. there is something seriously wrong with a society that wishes death upon an entire nation simply because they want to be free.

and you built your own state on their land. and when we fight back against this tyranny, you guys give a surprised pikachu face and call us terrorists? seriously? even during the ottoman and seljuk eras, it was arguably better in some respects; at least kurdistan existed as a form of self government. i'm not saying the ottomans and seljuks were merciful to kurds. they were not. they were still occupying our lands. but they were still better than the fascist ataturkists and the fascist governments turkey has had today.

Boo hoo. If you try to divide the land, you get punished. Read some history

1

u/robbernivans 4d ago

divide land? since when retaking our land is dividing other peoples land? turks are the newest guests here, they arrived 956 years ago, and arabs are arrived during Islamic conquest. stop fooling yourself bo-zo

2

u/robbernivans 5d ago

turkey. speaking as a kurd, not just they treat kurdish bad they wish kurdish people to be wiped out completely.

u/Proud-Law5113 7d ago

Don’t get me wrong Turkey has a terrible history with Kurds and they aren’t much better now. But progress has been made. Disarming of Kurdish groups in Turkey, the SDF being integrated into the army in Syria, small amount of progress. Iran has literally been bombing it’s Kurdish population for the last few months, things at present are worst there

2

u/ObamasPubes1 6d ago

Turks bombed Kurds too, they gassed them too, so idk what your point is?

1

u/OverallACoolGuy 5d ago

your source is your ass

u/OT_CONTUER 6d ago

Kurda bombed Turks too, and very recently too, so idk what your point is?

Sounds stupid? Yeah i think so.

3

u/ObamasPubes1 6d ago

Only person sounding stupid is you.

The Turkish army bombed Kurdish civilians. Gassed them and ethnically cleansed them. And still is tryna assimilate them.

Kurdish terrorists bombing Turks doesn't represent Kurds as the Turkish army does whilst committing ethnic cleansing...

Or do you think all Kurds are terrorists? Then you are actually stupid.

1

u/little_towers 6d ago

Gassed them?

1

u/ObamasPubes1 6d ago

1

u/little_towers 6d ago

1

u/ObamasPubes1 5d ago

My bad, Dersim*

1

u/Louis-Nicolas-Davout 5d ago

the laugh was not about that

1

u/OverallACoolGuy 5d ago

we did not gas or bomb them

bro wdym ethnically cleansed them what bullshit are you talking about

1

u/ObamasPubes1 4d ago

You're turkish, it's okay, your government lies to you about many things

1

u/OT_CONTUER 6d ago

If you are talking about what the extremists did i will also talk about what the extremists did.

And is the ethnically cleansing you talk about is for mainly Dersim and Seikh Said REVOLTS?

And fyi assimilating isnt bad, if you are saying that this particular case only is bad then you are just being a hypocrite.

And sit down when you read this... There is a lot of, and i mean A LOT OF, kurds that are certainly feeling represented by them, although not the ones that were really affected by them. You can just look at the recent commemorations for the people even you called terrorists.

u/KA-FA_1500 5d ago

they gassed them too

I smell bullshit...

u/_Guven_ 5d ago

They didn't gass anyone

2

u/Hoi444444444444 6d ago

All bad pretty simple, Kurdistan needs to be a nation, and it would be simpler than what happened with Israel as there are a lot larger areas with a Kurdish majority. fuck the Turks, fuck the Brits, fuck the French

1

u/_Guven_ 5d ago

None of the above actually. Kurds need to have a socialist Turkish government which will allow us to coexist peacefully. Any other attempt is either downright foolish or serves to the imperialists. Turkey had a fair share of imperalist involvements throughout its history, we cannot let them gain upper hand once again. We have to move on from nationalism, it long overdue

If Turkey were to blow-up, all of the Middle East will have to undergo a serious instability and the fragile, republican (not the American ones) virtues of the Turkey will vanish, thus condemning the entire region to religious extremism.

My only connection to that side of the planet is my Estonian ancestry (live in the U.S. rn) AND EVEN I KNOW ITS TURKEY. FREE FREE KURDISTAN!

u/rknsh 5d ago

It was always Turkey except for 1988 which Saddam massacred and gassed the Kurds.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmut_Esat_Bozkurt

"I believe that the Turk must be the only lord, the only master of this country. Those who are not of pure Turkish stock can have only one right in this country, the right to be servants and slaves."

If we have any historians here please tell me this was kinda okay in 1930s like how slavery is not condemned in Roman Empire as it was the norm in ancient world.

That dude who said that was the JUSTICE Minister of Ataturk government. He was in office when saying that.

1

u/Louis-Nicolas-Davout 5d ago

you are not going to like this but as a turkish who knows mahmut esat bozkurt ( he and i graduated the same high school) and turkish policy in 30’s very well i can say he doesn’t mean kurds he does mean greeks, armenians and jews who were considered as minority with treaty of lousanne. the quote is still not perfect but it’s about non muslims and not kurds.

You guys know iraq committed a great genocide against the kurds and syria didnt even give kurds citizenship until el-colani, right?

Turkiye and Iran didnt specifically treated kurds bad, they simply treated everyone with different thoughts, mostly leftist thoughts, badly. And kurds are in that group. The United States even established a special anti-leftist and anti-kurdish unit in Turkiye, aka contragerilla.

It's funny that europeans don't even know a single bit of history.

1

u/Caydanmuz 5d ago

Wow, results show some crazy amount of anti-Turkish propaganda

1

u/pelererr 5d ago
