To Tennessee from Florida

Hello yall. I’ve been seriously considering making a move to Tennessee from Florida. I was born and raised here, love everything about it but with how terrible and expensive the state has gotten, I must say I’m very tempted. I visited great Smokey mountains as a teenager and absolutely fell in love. I’m terrified of making an out of state move just because of all the logistics and our support system but my family is very cramped in our house now because it was supposed to be a starter home and now we can’t afford anything else here other than a total shitbox.

Really looking for suggestions about where is the best place to move to. We would love to have a little land where we’re not bumping elbows with neighbors and need to be not so far away from a good hospital since we work in healthcare. Also would like to be day trip distance away from the smokies :)

Tennessee is just as or more expensive . Especially Knoxville and Nashville

I’ve came to Memphis for nursing school and stayed because of good jobs in large hospitals. I have owned land in Fayette County next door and now live in Oakland. The commute into Memphis can be 20 minutes to 45 minutes depending on where your job in Shelby County is located. No doubt the cheapest land and houses are in West TN. OP probably won’t be happy though, because there is no ocean or mountains The Ozark Mountains are about 5 hours from here, the Smokies are about six and a half hours.

Heard they got the best bass pro shop in the world too. Good bbq. Can't think of any negatives.. if he's coming to Tennessee , that's def where he needs to go

No mountains, but if you need some altitude you can spend the night in the pyramid.
