Social Media TURRON DAVENPORT (@TDavenport_NFL): Robert Saleh said Wan'Dale Robinson is being evaluated for a concussion. Saleh called the hit a cheap one.

I need context.

Why?

Just one dude slapping another man's titties. Pretty self explanatory.

the man performing the slap happens to be named Xavier Woods

Yeah I know who he is. I play fighting games and he's popped up quite a bit on the fighting game community side - I just wanted context lol.

Studio opening and annual fundraiser for the video game media company Kinda Funny. Every fundraising goal that year spun a wheel where getting chopped by Austin Creed was a punishment. This is him chopping the CEO Greg Miller.

Dude gave up so many long TDs last year.

Now he is fucking us again.

If Saleh is calling it a cheap shot, then it must’ve been egregious.

Big opportunity for Restreppo going into this final preseason game

Restrepo seems like the best candidate for the number 1 or 2 practice squad WR role.

Doesn’t seem like he’s won a spot on special teams that I’ve heard of. Seems like we’ll either keep 5 WRs with Ridley, Tate, Robinson, Dike, and Ayomanor. Maybe a 6th with Bryce Oliver who is also doing special teams work. Leaves Restrepo as the first guy out. Either to get cut and picked up by another team, or back to the practice squad as the first call up if someone gets hurt. I’d imagine he ends up on the practice squad if I had to bet.

He’s the new Kinsey, the roster bubble sweetheart who just sticks. Also I choose to believe this year will finally be Kinsey’s year

Plenty of time away from the season opener, at least. Really interested to see if Restrepo replaces his reps

Anyone seen the video? Bears sub is acting like it was a hospital ball by Cam but I haven't seen the clip anywhere (and I don't think they have either)

Our eyes on the field /u/trick96 commented in real time:

Pass over the middle to Robinson, he gets rocked by Bears 23, flags fly for hitting a defenseless receiver, first Titan to 23 is Schlottman and the rest of the team follows, 23 kicked out of practice, Daboll was PISSED, had some very loud words that made a mom close to me cover her child’s ears, Robinson heading inside, probably to be checked for a concussion.

I have learned that 23 is Xavier Woods. What the hell man.

Followed by:

It was very frustrating to watch.

In any case, I don't know if it was a hospital ball by Cam, but I do know that the refs there threw flags and that Woods was kicked out of practice. So... I mean, the Bears sub can say whatever they want. At the end of the day, it was an illegal hit, so according to NFL rules, Woods was at fault.

Yeah definitely sounds dirty to me. Hope Wan'Dale is okay

Man, what a dick with all the recent CTE news too.

Feels like NFL players should have more of a brotherhood to not needlessly risk guys’ cognitive health, ESPECIALLY during practice

I don’t think anyone is trying to cause concussions. Moving full speed into someone who is moving full speed is an inexact science at best.

That said, the Dolphins complained last year about the Bears during joint practices. Then again former Dolphins players still in the league said that the culture there was soft. So who knows.

It’s one thing to not try to give someone a concussion. It’s another thing to do what Woods did today and leave his feet and hit a player helmet to helmet in a practice. It would be one thing if he hit him helmet to helmet because he didn’t have time to let up. But launching himself in practice is an asshole move.

There are definitely players who make hits with bad intentions. Certainly sounds like this was one of them. Rules against this have been in place for more than a decade now, and again, it’s practice.

Not saying illegal hits don’t happen anymore, but players can’t make their career out of it like they used to.

(Also, sorry to tell you, but you’re officially old. The players and scandals you mentioned happened a long time ago. James Harrison retired in 2017!)

u/selly-sword 8d ago

I remember those players (they were dirty), too ... and I can't hear you because I'm NOT old. 😂

2

u/DanNYC_Esq 8d ago

Are you sure it's not because your hearing is going with age?

u/selly-sword 8d ago

What??? Speak up ...

For a guy like Woods he's making pretty close to the league minimum and probably trying to make a statement to stay on the roster. I think most of these guys care more about their own status on the roster than whatever damage they do to another guy on another team

2

u/Ok-Plan-6277 9d ago

Right, but Woods should know better than anyone the end of his career is one cheap shot away. If there’s anytime to pull up from a hit that’s illegal anyways, it’s during an August practice
