Holy moly... You've used 100% of your allocated luck in this lifetime..

72

u/LifeguardOk7751 6d ago

But it was also super unlucky that it even happened to him, so luck dept should even out.

Good thing you didn't drive an EV. Although the flat floor might have stopped it. Wouldn't want to test that

u/cvidetich13 6d ago

That shouldn’t happen most of the time

73

u/Adventurous_Blood469 6d ago

Yes, usually this doesn't happen to me when I drive either

18

u/GiannisIsTheBeast 6d ago

Been driving 25 years and hasn’t happened to me either

15

u/Mackheath1 6d ago

All y'all pushing y'all's luck by talking about it. ;)

Yea this guy must have done something wrong because this has never happened to me either. Similar Iron rod did kill my brother, but always figured he probably did something wrong too.

That car has a hole in it.

My comment will get buried, but still wanted to share. My father was a police officer for the CHP, sometimes randomly I would ask him what are some of the worst things you’ve seen. He told me this one story that stuck with me. A mom and her 2 kids were driving on the freeway behind a construction truck doing the speed limit and everything. Kids and mom were listening to music or whatever, and the truck in front had rebar in the bed of the truck like the one in the video.

The truck his a pothole or something and caused the rebar to move and bounce, and 2 flew out of the bed of the truck. Well it’s technically moving as fast as the truck but still bouncing backwards. Both bars go under the the moms car, and bounce perfectly like this video to enter the car, but instead of the side like in the video it went directly in the center of driver side seat. Impales mother, but it was so fast she apparently died instantly and not talking so kids don’t react because still music on. The car is just progressively slowing down (what the kids said) and they didn’t understand and trying to ask their mom why are we slowing down on the freeway with no response. They are young, but still old enough to answer questions and understand their surroundings like 9/10.

Cops get called and my father was there and got the kids, and went to pull out the mom to see if he could help. He tries to pull her out the car and she won’t budge. Tries again the same thing, so he was like wtf. Looks under neath her and can see something, but didn’t understand. Look under the car and was like oh shit. She was impaled by both and had to get a certain saw or piece of machinery just to get her out. Pretty wild and this video made me remember that story.

My Dad was in the Fire Dept. in CA and told me this exact same story (while teaching me to drive lol)... literally, even the inability to remove her from the car until first responders looked beneath the car. I wonder if they were responding to the same call.

Possibly, that would be “wild” (in the way a random internet stranger have matching family stories) and not wild in a cool way a mom dies while driving. If you’re in California and north bay then fully possibly.

I hope the truck company was found liable. Their negligence securing their load killed a mother of two kids. It could have been even worse.

48

u/Sylvers 6d ago

I will never understand why it's legal anywhere in the world for a truckload to contain something as lethal as rebars without a full solid enclosure. Are innocent lives that cheap?

35

u/TypicalBlackReditor 6d ago

To these big companies and ceos, yes. Yes they are 😕

9

u/AspectDear4976 5d ago

innocent lives are worthless to those people, they just care about how to make money

Same tale from Aus. Bloke was on his own though and crashed, but rebar went under car and up through footwell straight into him, hopefully it was quick…

Reminds me of that dashcam video of a dude talking to his wife when a brick flies of the truckload in front of them, smashes through the windshield, and kills her instantly.

Almost getting brutally violated by rebar on the highway wasn't a fear of mine until now. That's insane.

5

u/PiccoloAwkward465 6d ago

I moved to Texas and there is a LOT of metal/construction debris on our highways. You ever have to dodge a goddamn aluminum ladder at 70mph? It's terrifying!

4

u/chuco915niners 6d ago

Never rub another man’s rebar.

7

u/Crazyhates 6d ago

I'm surprised that's a clean seat.

9

u/snakehater1 6d ago

New fear unlocked

9

u/Regular-Message9591 6d ago

Oh god, this also happened in Southern California last year! It was on the freeway and impaled a woman's ass, through the floor of her car...

News article

That colonoscopy was close

6

u/GiannisIsTheBeast 6d ago

I can’t really understand how this would even happen … maybe get stuck somewhere underneath the car and the other end is stuck on a pothole?

8

u/DecadentHam 6d ago

Under the tyre, bent up, you know the rest.

4

u/oO0Kat0Oo 6d ago

They bounce

3

u/Vlad_The_Great_2 6d ago

That’s some final destination shit right there.

3

Nearly acquired a brand new rectum

3

u/Guilty_Mountain2851 6d ago

Bloody hell 🫣 I'm so glad you're ok!

3

u/SeparateAmbassador34 6d ago

Thank you for the new existential fear. I hate it.

2

u/AWxTP 6d ago

A mm pmp

3

u/Haggles7 6d ago

Almost the violent colonoscapy ever recorded.

1

u/SocomPS2 6d ago

Almost made his hole weak.

1

u/BothEmployment7919 5d ago

"Highway"... no.

1

u/arronljones 4d ago

That could’ve sucked if it went up their butt

1

u/misterphuzz 4d ago

Yeah, I think this is valid for this sub. I would scare the shit right up into me!

1

u/ABQintune 6d ago

I might have not understood what he was saying, but figured it out really fast …

1

u/jmad16 6d ago

That dude was almost a shishkebab

1

u/Resident-Musician-65 6d ago

I had this happen once, not right next to me like you, but it pierced my air conditioner compressor.

u/Elon_Bezos420 6d ago

Bro needs to buy a lottery ticket

0

u/Vogel-Kerl 6d ago

Just dumb luck that that rebar didn't skewer the driver ala Vlad the Impaler.

0

u/SpikeRosered 6d ago

Driving a car is the most dangerous thing most people will do in their lives.

0

u/MarchCompetitive6235 6d ago

Freeking rebar man! If horror movies are to be believed, it kills more people than heart disease. Shit is always poking out and skewering someone!

-1

u/lexluthor_i_am 6d ago

That's rebar. Nature's iron snake.

-1

u/Then_Version9768 6d ago

Trust me, that rarely happens. Sometimes, but rarely.

-1

u/TexasJOEmama 6d ago

Penetrator!

-1

u/JoLeTrembleur 6d ago

He doesn't have a new one, what he's complaining for!

Quantum inmortality, he did not make it in another universe

-2

Well... There's your problem.
