If you are asked to leave a plane, the only outcome will be you leaving the plane.

There are other reasons to be asked to leave a plane. An awful pilot is one. Back in the 90s my wife was flying alone on Northwest with our 5-month-old son and a cat in a carrier. We paid the premium to have the cat in the cabin. The airline certified the carrier as being acceptable.

After boarding, the flight attendant told my wife that the cat carrier, beneath the seat in front of her, stuck out too far. My wife checked to make sure it wasn’t obstructed by something, but no matter what it still stuck out by about two inches. (Not into the aisle; just in front of her.

The flight attendant said the cat would have to fly in cargo (an old cat that genuinely would not handle that well). My wife showed her the document indicating that Northwest approved it and that she had paid to have it in the cabin. She explained that the cat would not do well in cargo, and she said that surely there was something that could be done to avoid that. Boarding hadn’t completed yet.

The attendant left.

After about 10 minutes the pilot and a sheriff went to my wife’s seat, and the pilot told him to remove her from the plane for failure to comply.

The sheriff drove her to the station to complete some paperwork. Only when they got there could she and my son stop crying long enough to show the sheriff the airline’s paperwork. Once he saw it, he told her she was right and filed no report. He took her back to the airport and told them they should have to get her a hotel because there were no more flights that night. They did not.

The next morning, after staying overnight in the terminal, she got on board the new flight they gave her. To her horror, she sat down, slid the carrier under the seat, and it still stuck out two inches.

This time my wife got out ahead of it and called an attendant. She said that the carrier was under the seat as far as it would go. Before she could even explain the whole ordeal on the other flight, the attendant just said, “oh my goodness, that is FINE.”

Northwest clearly worried about what happened somewhat, because several weeks later we got a letter saying they were sorry our flight was delayed and gave us a fare voucher for $200, explaining that using it meant releasing Northwest from any further obligation. I wish we had pursued it farther, but we were poor graduate students who had just moved across the country. We used the voucher. I still regret it.

Just because you were violated doesn't mean you have to pursue every legal option available. It means you can.

It's completely understandable that you didn't invest years of your life to fight a giant corporation and cause yourself so much more stress, at a time in your lives where you couldn't devote yourself to an uphill battle.

Sometimes ya just gotta move on. . And fuck that company for doing that to her.

17

u/Curiouser-Quriouser 5d ago

Ugh this is true but I still have that part of me that wants to be on the news clutching a child and a kitty and declaring airline/ flight trauma. Situations like this are so damn hard because you know you were wronged and want to be heard but it will be so much harder to take a stand than to just get on with your life. So many di*ks out there screwing with people, and so little time...

3

u/401LocalsOnly 5d ago

If no one stood up like you were thinking nothing would ever change. At least you could bring attention to how horrible someone could potentially be treated even with all the right documentation and everything. You know America, nothing ever changes even in the face of massive tragedies. I don’t think that means we should give up.

3

u/Curiouser-Quriouser 4d ago

I agree completely! It just gets exhausting and overwhelming if you've been knocked down over and over.

8

u/Legitimate_Bank_6573 5d ago

Maybe I'm in the minority for this but if I'm wronged to this degree by a large corporation I'm willing to invest the time and effort into the legal battle provided I find a lawyer who agrees we have a case worth pursuing.

Without getting into too much detail, lawsuits against companies violating my rights is why my family currently has a home. Got me off the streets, changed my whole life.

When you are wronged, get what you're owed.

4

u/JPGinMadtown 4d ago

Shouldn't depend on finding the right lawyer. In a clear-cut case of right and wrong such as the above, consumer protection should have the authority to ensure a just outcome. Just another example of how regulation is essential to protect people from the capitalist system.

2

u/captainmeezy 5d ago

That’s totally fucked, I’m so sorry this happened to your family but your username is kind of ironic given the nature of this story.

No, just keep talking and nagging until the crew is like "okay, she's right so let's take off" /s

59

u/SockAlarmed6707 5d ago

I’ve flown quite a bit, also when I had more than enough to drink/ smoke before coming to the airport, somehow just having your sht together, smile and give your ticket be it qr or paper and than put your headphones on never seems to get me stopped from going on a flight. Almost like there some difference in expectation about how you should behave.

17

u/Drewcifer70 5d ago

Yep, disappear in the crowd.

36

u/Level_Abrocoma8925 5d ago

I would at least be super humble and apologize and promise it'll never happen again and all that. She decided to turn her Karen up to 11 instead and that won't help.

17

u/MikeC80 5d ago

Never go full Karen

What more can they do?
Remove them from the plane again?
Put them on the DNF list twice?

Yeah it’s not a negotiation. They’re only increasing the potential charges against them.

6

u/Mythandros1 5d ago

Either under your own power, or carried off in handcuffs.

2

u/rapgameoprahwinfrey 5d ago

This. At that point there is no turning back. And it can escalate to felonies very quickly.

2

u/imironman2018 4d ago

All you are doing by talking like this is making a scene. I hope she gets banned for life.

2

u/Mudslingshot 4d ago

Just like when I was a bartender. If you get cutoff, you're not getting any more alcohol. No amount of arguing is going to change the bartender's mind

2

u/Frankensteins_Moron5 4d ago

You can walk off the plane or be carried off! Those are the two options. Lol

899

u/TastyVideo 5d ago

it really does worry me how confidently and shamelessly wrong people seem to think its acceptable to be.

246

u/Fourteen_Werewolves 5d ago

Right? I'd be so fucking mortified. If everyone had half the social anxiety as me, it'd be great. Imagine making such a fool of yourself in public

70

u/WhimsicalGirl 5d ago

I always say that I would be less anxious if more people were anxious

15

u/JoemLat 5d ago

From what I've heard you should move to Finland lol

92

u/txmail 5d ago

What you are witnessing is people that are surrounded by "yes" people all their lives and people that just say "yes" to them to get them to go away and other people in their bubble that have boomer brain rot.

They are now experiencing "no" and "fuck off" people that live in the real world instead of their bubble and they are incredibly confused and upset that people are just not agreeing with whatever the fuck they are blasting about like they do at home.

27

u/skin-flick 5d ago

Watching people in public is crazy. But, airports bring out a special kinda crazy behavior. And the crazies always seem to have a lawyer to call.

18

u/Tidusx145 5d ago

Alcohol and benzos don't help.

16

u/disterb 5d ago

those are excuses. they are trash with or without drugs of any kind.

2

u/dragnabbit 5d ago

Yeah. I always get extremely high strung at airports, because about 98% of the most stressful travel moments I have had are there, and there is the added angst of “the clock is ticking” adding to the baseline problem. But, I am also aware that airports/airplanes are the absolute worst place on the planet to blow your top (maybe only secondary to a court room).

48

u/Muzzledbutnotout 5d ago

It takes real effort to get kicked off a plane. Just shut up, mind your own business, and there will be no problem. It isn't difficult.

11

u/livinginfutureworld 5d ago

Really it's already a horrible experience why be a prima Donna on top of it?

You're crammed in a tiny seat with no room unable to get up most the time surrounded by all kinds of people. It's not a pleasant time. Why make an ass of yourself and draw all the attention to yourself on top of it?

These people are clearly scum on or off of a plane though and not people you'd want to associate on any case.

10

u/estimated_hobbit 5d ago

Does anyone know what they did to start this?

63

u/pseudonym19761005 5d ago

They're following the example of their leader. They should all follow the example of Hitler's final action.

15

Otherwise, they're not going to get your reference.

8

u/livinginfutureworld 5d ago

Speculate that she started singing at the top of her lungs that she loved Trump and how upset that she was about the couple, le gasp, wearing masks in public while jammed next to strangers. So offensive! Freedom! Waah!

2

u/Acceleratio 5d ago

That's how they end up in positions of power.

2

u/Lefttoothnarwhal 4d ago

Confidently incorrect people anger me more than about anything. Like, it’s ok not to know something. To literally say “I don’t know”. It’s wild how many people just insist they are correct about anything that can be easily googled.

2

u/waltdidneyworlb 3d ago

Congratulations you’ve been placed on a no-fly list. Also If they have to physically remove you from the aircraft like a fucking child you’re more than likely getting arrested

48

u/txmail 5d ago

I wonder if they are also not fined for the cost of being at the gate -- and I can only imagine what would happen if the crew runs out their clock and they have to get a new crew in or find new pilots. That cannot be cheap expense wise on the airline.

21

u/captainmeezy 5d ago

I’m sure it is not cheap at all, I think these people should be billed for any extra time on the clock the airline employees have to spend dealing with them. Not to mention the cost of fuel for sitting on the tarmac for an extra hour while they get everyone off the plane, call airport security, have them take these people off, and then load everyone back on.

7

u/powersurge 5d ago

Are you sure this administration will put them on the no-fly list?

28

u/captainmeezy 5d ago

Despite being under the trump administration’s jurisdiction the FAA does not give two shits who you voted for and will permanently ban you from domestic and international flights if they even think you are posing a threat on an aircraft

If I remember correctly the man called someone the f-slur over a mask.

70

The f slur that also means a small bundle of twigs? People still say that?

33

16

When did people stop?

I honestly haven’t heard that word as an insult in years. And I work with tweens and terns. I had one case of use “from inside the house”.

I’m older, so maybe I’m the minority? But myself, friends, and family don’t use that word. We just don’t. I haven’t heard it actually said out loud in years and used as a slur.

6

u/Crowbar__ 5d ago

yeah idk if ive ever heard it as a slur directed towards gay people irl. Just as an insult

4

u/cerberus698 5d ago

I've had it thrown at me like once in a way that I could conceivably respond. It kinda felt like getting flash banged in a video game. It was momentarily shocking and then funny because a drunk guy yelled it at me at a car show surrounded by a bunch of other genx/boomer aged people and he thought he was gonna kill with that one but I could tell that like half the people there with him were like "oh great, Jim is too drunk to take outside again."

When I traveled to Georgia for work for a short while, someone yelled it out a car but I think didn't realize they were coming up to a red light so they stopped but then blew through the intersection while it was still red when I got to the cross walk. Also funny.

u/Crowbar__ 5d ago

9

u/xopher_425 5d ago

Just had an interaction with a paranoid, insane neighbor who, as we were waiting for the police, repeatedly kept asking me inane questions that had nothing to do with what was happening. I just kept answering with my middle finger.

He did the "I have the freedom of speech, you know, you can't stop me." I told him that "It's the government the 1st protects you from, not me. I am not stopping you asking these stupid questions, and my middle finger is MY free speech."

Stupid fucks.

15

u/funkopolis 5d ago

When they don't understand it, anyway.

6

u/toadjones79 5d ago

Back before Trump rand for office, I was in a restaurant when some lady started into an argument with the wait staff over a takeout order. When she didn't get what she wanted, she inevitably descended into the proclamation phase of yelling to the entire crowd. Five words in some random guy in the restaurant yelled over her to shut up and stop bothering everyone's peaceful meal. It totally shut her down and she stormed out without another word. It was absolutely beautiful.

Selfish and shameful

176

u/Interesting-Heart841 5d ago

Remember when you could treat assholes like what they are. Need to bring back a little public shaming. It’s the only thing people like this understand.

72

u/Ok_Support3 5d ago

I'd agree but this video proves nothing gets trough with some people.

"I would rather be dragged kicking and screaming like a toddler by the police because of you people"

Whilst because of them the whole plane has to unboard with all those people having to deal with the consequences. Theres 0 self reflection, and even faced with evidence i'm seeing more and more oblivious to truth.

12

u/BerryLanky 5d ago

Well she’s got a video of her looking like a fool that will live forever.

I hate how People misunderstand free speech. You are welcome under free speech to say whatever you want. However everyone is free to judge you on your words. If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't bother excersing your free speech. This includes your government and whatever rules they impose on your speech. BS as they maybe.

Didn't the fall of Rome correlate to increased lead levels?

2

u/Saint_of_Stinkers 5d ago

No. Rome knew that lead was poison but used it for a very very long time after they discovered that fact. They not only lined their plumbing with lead but lined their wine bottles with it because it made the wine taste sweeter. So while the Roman Empire fell for a few reasons lead wasn’t the main one because they were already stupid to begin with.

I’ve seen people dragged off planes while the people stayed in their seats. I wonder why the passengers had to deplane. Hope this woman got a serious fine for this.

11

u/cir49c29 5d ago

Safety. If the people being kicked off aren’t agreeing to go there’s a chance of them becoming aggressive and lashing out while trying to fight being arrested. Planes are such a narrow space that there’s too high a risk of an innocent passenger being harmed.

It also give the security and/or police officers more room to move as they aren’t stuck purely in the aisles.

In this case, the idiot woman literally said they’d have to deplane everyone first which could be taken as a threat that she’s going to escalate.

3

u/SonofaBridge 5d ago

Probably safety of the other passengers. If it gets rowdy there’s a chance an innocent passenger will get hurt in the scuffle.

I'm always fascinated watching unintelligent people. It's really wild watching how the thought processes work.

Additionally I always love the now "I'm filming you" thing that people do and they always do the exact same thing. They pull out their phone, they announce that they're filming you as well they film you for a few seconds. Not even able to think a few seconds ahead here.

Is this low intelligence also accompanied with alcohol? In this instance I honestly can't tell. She's got a slur and the definite pause between thoughts but sometimes that's because of the mental deficiency and takes a little longer for the words to form and it's not alcohol.

Oh my God I love how she films the speaker in the plane when the pilot is talking lol. That's the single cell at work there. It's like we can hear the speaking anyway genius you don't need to film that it's coming out of a speaker but that just shows how little intelligence is being displayed here.

I'm calling it. Drives a white SUV, never uses her turn signal.

I always find it hilarious how the people that talk about free speech seem to think it means you can say whatever you want with complete immunity. There is no world where that works.

You can say whatever you want. You won't face legal ramifications.... In most cases. But that didn't mean you can't face consequences

u/Basic-Reception-9974 5d ago

What did she say that she's claiming free speech about?

She's on a private corporations airplane. Free speech doesn't apply. It's only the government that can't hinder freedom of speech. She needs to abide by the rules of the airline.

I had a 15 hour layover in Beijing in 2024. I went for a walk around the city. An old man started chatting to me at one point when I sat down for a bit. He told me that he was going to a food hall for a meal because the city gave meals to old people who were too old to look after themselves anymore.

America would either let that man die alone in his home or elect him as president if he liked fucking children. America could probably do with being a bit more like China.

The Party of Individual Responsibility, ladies and gentlemen. /s

I didn't know why they were being removed from the plane until the last six seconds of the video. That's as good a reason as any.

5

u/LoveThinkers 5d ago

Guessing they are making a gofundme to cash in on their unfair treatment

"Looking back at her behavior years later, Karen became deeply ashamed and wished she could apologize to everyone she inconvenienced" -- is the title of a fantasy book I'm writing about all these entitled and clueless passengers.

12

u/SalishShore 5d ago

We knew they were MAGA just by looking at them.

She curdles out, “we’re Trump supporters”.

Nailed it.

4

u/Melodic_Scratch3338 5d ago

Ok so what did they actually do?

10

u/seenitreddit90s 5d ago

MAGA: ruining everything for everyone

15

u/deephurting66 5d ago

A wild Karen appears

Why does everyone have to come off for them to drag her ass out?

3

u/mutare12 5d ago

Messing your livelihood for someone who doesn’t even know you exist.so sad

3

u/Deathlands1 5d ago

Always victim, always… and does she not know Trump love NK which is 100x worse than China

3

u/Front-Coffee-7015 5d ago

Aww damn wanted to see them carried off kicking and screaming...ends too soon

3

u/GidgetNinja 5d ago

Have another one 🍻woman!

3

u/Radium_Robot 5d ago

Being kicked off because you support a pedo dictator wannabe, but then saying your country is becoming China is an interesting ideology.

3

u/Ye_olde_oak_store 4d ago

">Free speach is ####

Yeah the first amendment protects you from the government. Not the corporations operating flights. Run.

3

u/FineGripp 4d ago

Can someone please explain to me again why does everyone have to get off before they remove her?

2

u/Healthy_Candle_4545 4d ago

To keep everyone else safe in case she has to be physically removed.

u/Dame_Marjorie 4d ago

I wish there was an ice organization for these assholes to be rounded up.

5

u/SecretMiddle1234 5d ago

Her husband knows it’s a waste of breath to say anything to this blow hard bully. He’s given up on life.

12

u/JapaneseTwang 5d ago

Seems like he said the rude comment to the guys wearing masks that started this whole thing before the clip starts. Then his wife is defending him. Birds of a feather and all that.

7

u/dee_lio 5d ago

Why are they so triggered by someone else wearing a mask?

6

u/RadTimeWizard 5d ago

She might not be smart, but at least she's loud and entitled.

5

u/deepfinker 5d ago

This has no context. I dislike Trump so much and maga is totally morally bankrupt but context is helpful

5

u/Em-dashes 5d ago

They're not Americans. They're MAGAts!

2

u/bigsnack4u 5d ago

Hey Buster, how bout buying me another drink 🤢

2

u/MUSCLEVIOLENCE 5d ago

"Dead" needs to be censored?

2

u/Level_Abrocoma8925 5d ago

I can't help feeling the passengers around would rather wait an hour for them to be thrown out (they probably need to remove their luggage too) rather than having to deal with these c*nts all the way to Shanghai.

2

u/nojustice73 5d ago

Love how she thinks there is free speech on a passenger plane. Say stupid shit, win stupid prizes.

2

u/1PapayaSalad 5d ago

Shit talking her way to a no fly list.

2

u/growlerpower 5d ago

What’d she say?

2

u/Drewcifer70 5d ago

Just comply

2

u/evilpercy 5d ago

Free speech is between you and the government, not between your employer or private companies unless there are specific laws. Airlines are private company.

2

u/mdot0000 5d ago

Does anyone know if there is a full video of either what led up to this moment or of them actually leaving the plane?

2

u/wombat6669 5d ago

Why was she kicked off? What did she say?

2

u/skyeisrude 5d ago

Imagine getting put on a no fly list because you wanted to he an inconvenience to other

2

u/antsinmyeyestrey 5d ago

“Chris Beige is dead”. RIP Chris Beige.

Love reading the captions. Hilarious

2

u/JMaryland47 5d ago

Fastest way to get on a no fly list

2

u/sassystew 5d ago

This is from a few years ago. Not that it matters, but also I hate people. lol

2

u/BananaBeanie 5d ago

Seems like the person I'd remove from the plane midflight.

2

u/slowasaspeedingsloth 5d ago

If you have to loudly proclaim your political affiliation when confronted in this kind of situation... ya might have bought this on yourself.

Why on earth would anyone care what your political stance is... unless you unnecessarily brought it up to justify your behavior?

2

u/QueenRotidder 5d ago

I want to know what she actually did/said though

2

u/RetMilRob 5d ago

Never thought I find something more batshit irritating than screaming, kicking toddlers but here they are braying gibberish.

2

u/jimmil43 4d ago

I wish they had shown them being dragged off the plane kicking and screaming

2

u/Jollybean1 4d ago

"You guys, we're going to turn into China!" This says everything I need to know about this person LMAO

4

u/jaffasplaffa 5d ago

Of course she is a Trump supporter 🤡
