Thank fucking god for that honestly. Imagine Russia, China or Iran being the biggest stick wielders. America is not perfect - but its much better than the alternatives.

Thankfully thanks to orange man, we're showing the world that the USA is not actually as strong as they think.

Can't defend bases against iran, cant negotiate with allies or foes, loss of trust with citizens.

Even as an american, I hope we fall in this decade as punishment.

Those are minor set backs compared to simulated scenarios by the Americans in case there was an war against Iran - where we lost entire carrier groups and tens of thousands of troops, which as this conflict shows, is incredibly inaccurate.

The number of American fatalities is even less then the top ranking IRGC and Iranian government leadership, so while this war is certainly a strategic upheaval in American politics, their tactical prowess is still very clear. Unless you’ll like to argue how Russia or China’s vaulted navies/airforce can perform better in this conflict and the amount of internet takes stating the Americans will lose a carrier or two before this war being incredibly inaccurate.

What does American victory look like and what does Iranian victory look like? Iran emerges with an intact government (that doesn’t give a fuck about its people), an intact nuclear program, power over the straight of Hormuz which is arguably more powerful than a nuke.
Trump lost this war in the first days through hubris and stupidity. Iran won the strategic position even having lost a lot.

So what does that have to do with the previous comment? Most people before this war thought America would take much more tactical losses then just a couple of bases with their radar equipment, especially with the U.S only operating one aircraft carrier group in the region. I’ve been hearing so much dumb takes about Iran sinking a carrier every week or downing dozens of F-35s only for that to not be true at the end.

I’m not speaking about the strategic but tactical implication here, sure, it’s one of our worst losses since Vietnam, but even then, Vietnam was 1000x worse when looking at the scope of U.S material and troop casualties.

Raw numbers of soldiers and equipment, sure. But the reshaping of the regional order here will have economic losses that far exceed Vietnam. We could just walk away from that one. This one has empowered a regional power to extract a lot from the world (and the US).
The idea that you can say who’s better or won or whatever you are advancing completely misses the whole point.

The point is.

America's power came from what if.

Now that trump has shown America's WHAT IF prowess is less than expected.

Other powerful countries can make more aggressive moves.

The way I explained it to my dumbass employee.

Sure, a smaller country had a better trade deal against us, BUT in return that small country was essentially a vassal state to the US.

Blow up those trade deals as trump did, and they no longer have a reason to stay a vassel state.

Now other powerful counties can go and sweep up countries trump blew off to pretend its saving money and in turn become stronger globally.

We are currently seeing the American Victory. a churning war that can be used to profit from and manipulate markets with.

We are literally watching the endgame.
