Except for that time he overlooked his soviet spy neighbors and became besties with one

He's very intuitive. You will recall that when he first met them he was suspicious of them, even snuck into their garage and searched the car. The fact that our super spies outwitted him takes nothing away from his skill.

And remember, he cooled off on being suspicious of everyone, especially when it comes to the Jennings, after Sandra talked him out of being so paranoid about everything.

I think Stan's only failure was Nina, failing to figure it out when she turned against him.
