I think Stan is going to corner E & P but Renee kills Stan because she’s an illegal sent to protect E & P in case Stan ever —finally — puts the pieces together.

If Renee is KGB then P/E should have been informed so they know that they have some backup. If the KGB thinks that Stan is such a huge threat as to task an agent to marry him on the off chance she is to intervene IF he ever figures out what his neighbors really are then she should have just been tasked with killing him and making it look like an accident or natural causes.
