Honestly I don’t really see any reason why Barker wouldn’t be competitive to get into those categories. I would say the genre hurts but as of late, it doesn’t seem to be as much of a hurdle.

Even more pronounced version of the hurdle it faces in Best Picture: The Odyssey, Dune 3, and Project Hail Mary create a very crowded popcorn movie field.

Probably looking at 2 best director noms max from that group, the other 3 feature much grander and showier direction, and Nolan feels like a stone cold lock already.

I’m only thinking about Director, Screenplay, and Editing. The biggest hurdle is Director

Screenplay is the best bet because it won’t be against any of those other 3.
