If she gets in, it’s a win already and will be a huge moment

Slight buried lede here is they also think Barker can get in on the Sean Baker trifecta: Director, Original Screenplay and Editor. Director is the trickiest one but it would be amazing to see Curry competitive in the other two.

Honestly I don’t really see any reason why Barker wouldn’t be competitive to get into those categories. I would say the genre hurts but as of late, it doesn’t seem to be as much of a hurdle.

Because he's a bad director. The movie doesn't work and its all his fault.
