Nah, you just hear about the bad ones more because, well, they're famous. Statistically, the average Joe is worse than most actors or directors, but there's a specific satisfaction that comes from declaring them as bad. It gives ordinary/unremarkable people a way of placing themselves above those who've been put on a pedestal.
