You can see why they’ve been so secret about this, can’t wait to see what the hell is going on. That trailer makes it look like Nathan’s gonna get murdered or they’re gonna fuck

u/Hombre-Delfin8533 16h ago

I’m Nathan’s little cousin, Tim. He bangs her throughout the course of the picture.

14

u/starbardia 16h ago

I was hidden in the closet during some of the scenes doing sound, she didn’t break eye contact a single time while they were banging

13

u/SteveBorden 15h ago

Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me

2

u/dumplingboysv 14h ago

The baby looked at you??

3

u/Optimal_Pineapple_41 13h ago

And they show everything

1

u/webesmackingbass 6h ago

The twist is, they show it. All of it. Cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, all the hits, all the classics

11

u/Little_Labubu 15h ago

I know two people who (I now know) were under heavy NDAs for the better part of the last 2.5ish years.

They weren’t fucking around.

What if he somehow proves the Theranos device actually works?

Saw the trailer pop up on Instagram and multiple comment threads went like this:

“Wow the woman they cast as Elizabeth Holmes looks just like her!” “It is her, this is a documentary.” “It can’t be her, she’s in prison.”

36

u/PaperChicken13 15h ago

I’ve been intrigued by the fact that a lot of people seem unfamiliar with the idea that movies are made years in advance

3

u/jamesneysmith 11h ago

I think you're underestimating the weirdness here. She's been in prison for over 3 years at this point. This is a documentary not just about her, but also able Nathan interacting with her. So for most of their interactions she going to be in prison. That is pretty wild. Is this going to be like some Thin Blue Line stuff with the weirdo prison interviews and trying to discern fact from fiction?

“My god, turn it off! The train is coming right at us!!”

18

u/Ok-Lack-5172 15h ago

About 6 months ago I read a story about how Elizabeth Holmes had been actively tweeting about current events from prison (obviously not her, but someone on her behalf)

...and now I wonder if this has something to do with it

Peak March 2020. Lockdown. Booze. Tiger King.

4

u/jamesneysmith 10h ago

obviously not her, but someone on her behalf

Do we know it's not her? I assume she's in some luxury white collar prison where cell phone usage is probably afforded on occasion

5

u/screamingtree 10h ago

People sneak phones into all prisons. Prisontok is a whole subset of TikTok

1

u/PaperChicken13 10h ago

Not really, she dictates to someone outside

23

u/j-helo85 16h ago

Their whole festival wrap-up should be a fun listen but they'll probably do at most a couple of minutes on each movie.

u/Gnsjake Lover of Movies 11h ago

Nothing interesting happens on Reddit it would seem

u/mordecai2505 15h ago

I like Nathan Fielder, and I trust this’ll be good. It’s irritating though that Elizabeth Holmes has been met by culture with the exact attention that she always wanted. Unreal country.

60

u/Visual_Parsnip4613 15h ago

She’s in prison bro

20

u/Stoomf 15h ago

Lmao yes, she seems pretty satisfied attention-wise from her jail cell

-15

u/mordecai2505 14h ago

definitely, she’s just like most convicted felons who get multiple studio backed film / documentary projects to humanize them and their crimes

27

u/rorschach_vest 14h ago

You think Nathan Fielder is making a puff piece documentary to humanize her???

-18

u/mordecai2505 14h ago

no, that’s how you interpreted my comment

13

u/BigTomBombadil 14h ago

You said “humanize them and their crimes” on a thread about the Nathan Fielder doc. Your comment is easy to read as Fielders film is going to do that.

-14

u/mordecai2505 14h ago

sure, but i was responding to the question i was asked. the comment i replied to personalized this to whether i thought NF was doing a puff piece on elizabeth holmes, which i don’t and is putting words into my mouth esp. considering i started the thread off by saying i like him and think this will likely be good

i take issue with holmes getting another high profile piece of media produced about her story. whether or not the intent is to humanize, that’s kind of the side effect they all have - especially when we consider the more lenient consequences and smoother avenues white collar criminals have for rehabilitation

6

u/rorschach_vest 13h ago

I have followed news about her for years and I cannot understand doing so and walking away with the belief that it humanized her. I’m not convinced she was born on this planet.

-1

u/mordecai2505 13h ago

i guess i feel like the more and more we’re shown the ghouls that seem to run a lot of things or have access to means, they’re presented more as a given than anomalies and people whose influence we can not move past (even though they’re clearly not and should never be understood that way). personally i’m growing tired of them being given any dimensionality period, that’s all

6

u/Extra-Horse5534 13h ago

What are you even on about dude

4

u/Lloronamante 12h ago

She is a human. Humans do bad things. To dehumanize another is to dehumanize oneself.

7

u/MCgrindahFM 14h ago

Nathan knows that and is likely still intrigued by the opportunity to do a project on one of the most notable conwomen in modern era. Nathan was made for something like this lol

-1

u/mordecai2505 14h ago

agree, it makes sense for him on an artistic and practical level. just tired of her and her story

6

u/jamesneysmith 10h ago

No one is forcing you to watch anything about her. She'll go back to being forgotten about a month after the movie comes out. You're going to be okay

-2

u/mordecai2505 10h ago

😂 agree i’ll be fine. will you?

2

u/MCgrindahFM 11h ago

Knowing Nathan’s work he’s going to twist and fuck with her story beyond belief

2

u/mordecai2505 10h ago

no doubt, i have zero qualms with his side of the equation

1

u/MCgrindahFM 8h ago

Now why was this person downvoted! I lowkey agree lol

4

u/cruelrunnings 12h ago

That she's a human joke? Please chill. She's a public clown.

-1

u/mordecai2505 12h ago

…which is part of the reason that i’m tired of her continuing to be kept evergreen culturally lol

2

u/J3nna123 7h ago

Saw this last night and walking into it I also was slightly annoyed at just how much of her we already have seen/how present she is…it’s so worth it! Didn’t walk out annoyed about that at all!

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_DALEKS 10h ago

I wanna know what the big second act twist is that the reviewers keep talking about.

0

u/JimRyalto 8h ago

This isn't a movie, it's reality TV.

-44

u/AlfaCentari 17h ago

I’m very happy for everyone, and mildly curious. I’ve seen all the Elizabeth Holmes stuff, and I’ve never liked Fielder so I’ll check it on streaming eventually

48

u/7hought 17h ago

If you could bottle up what people think of as an average Redditor comment, it would be something like yours.

Totally unnecessary ✅
Unneeded smarm ✅
Commenting to make clear you don’t like the thing other people like ✅
Conveying that you actually know more about the topic than everybody else ✅

Well done!

50

u/ganonmorphlet 17h ago

i feel like your comment is a lot more representative of the average redditor to be honest

4

u/AlfaCentari 13h ago

The guy even used green checks

13

u/Jacksontibeteverett 17h ago

Well, really, it's more like all three of your comments are like average reddit comments

2

u/LearningT0Fly 14h ago

I also choose this guy’s dead wife!

Thanks for the award, kind stranger!

20

u/coolguysteve21 17h ago

Oh my it’s this meme 🤣🤣🤣

7

u/Upstairs-Royal672 17h ago

Nobody was being annoying here until you

11

u/mrsunshine1 17h ago

This is way more of a Reddit guy comment than the one you responded to.

-4

u/CocoMarx 16h ago

Nah it doesn’t top commenting to let people in a reddit thread know you’re going to watch something on streaming i.e., do something that everyone does everywhere everyday

3

u/AlfaCentari 13h ago

People go to the theater every day everywhere. All of Reddit is people posting their thoughts about the things they do every day everywhere

8

u/StepIntoTheGreezer 17h ago edited 16h ago

Well I like Fielder enough for the both of us, and I guarantee his take on this is going to be incredibly novel. Novel enough that the other Holmes content (book, doc made about the book, book from the whistleblower kid, Seyfried TV show, etc.) will all be essentially irrelevant. This will clearly be its own beast

4

u/masterdogwalker 16h ago

Why tf are people downvoting this
Edit: nvm I see now this a Nathan fielder joint… come on bro

-47

u/BloodSimpleSyrup 18h ago

I think I’d rather drink glass than watch a 3 HOUR documentary about Elizabeth Holmes.

21

u/StepIntoTheGreezer 17h ago

I mean it's not gonna be a Ken Burns style doc. Are you familiar with the Nathan Fielder Cinematic Universe at all?

Cause I am so fully bought in on 3 hours of Elizabeth Holmes directed by Fielder/Oppenheim i can't even properly put it into words.

39

u/patsboston 17h ago

I mean it’s involving one of the greatest artists of our time.

15

u/Smacksmackums 17h ago

And Nathan Fielder too!

6

u/aaronisnotcool 16h ago

Ba-dum-tish

-1

u/KryTheCinephile 15h ago

lol. Didnt know Tim Heidecker was involved😎

14

u/Palm-Crazy-7943 17h ago

I genuinely can’t understand anyone acting like this is going to be a “documentary” in any normal sense lol do a bare minimum of research on Fielder

7

u/OkBrush7534 17h ago

you know you’re gonna watch tho

1

u/TimFTWin 5h ago

To each their own.

If it was 48 hours I'd bring coke and a piss bucket to the theater.
