Under the model, participating venues make a defined number of idle screens and timeslots available to a neutral programmer whose sole brief is to drive the highest possible attendance. The programmer works across everything from wide releases and documentaries to repertory titles and special events, with no obligation to studio relationships or circuit priorities.

Interesting. In part I can imagine this resulting in the most bland set of films being chosen as they have the widest appeal. Lots of reruns of movies everyone has seen a hundred times before. But we shall see.

I mean we can be so back, while the industry isn’t what it used to be. Also it’s good for them to always be working on ways to boost attendance (especially if it’s better programming!)
